I have the same situation, which only starts occurring right after the V1.06 update where they buffed the McLaren car.
It was right after the start on my season 2 MyTeam, where the McLaren was only the 4th best car on the grid, with quite some margin away from the Merc which is now technically the best. Lando ended up winning 4 out of 6 races (2 DNF), and always had like 20+ sec lead (once 30+ sec) at the end with Daniel in 2nd but was usually some distance away.
If I weren't mixing up the files, for post patch McLaren, other than the engine power tweaks (that every team had received and are identical), has a lighter and more balanced chassis, very slightly more drag but with quite a lot more downforce, but they also scaled down the upgrade accordingly so the values aren't really anything unusual comparing with other team.
But, for some reason, seems like the McLaren is missing <SplineElement x="1570.8" y="1" op="=" /> in the <AntiStallSuccessSpline> section which I believe every other team has it both pre & post patch (even the pre-patch McLaren had it but now missing). I'm not sure what it's for so I don't know if it does anything significant to the currently extremely OP McLaren.
Lando is definitely faster than Daniel ingame, this part is for sure.

Season 1 of Driver career, just got to the summer break, Lando has won the last 2 races.
Not like i really care, but i seem to remember seeing this in f1 2021 also
Got to remember Codemasters is still British.. you gotta expect some buffing off British teams and drivers.. No different to Gran Turismo buffing Japanese cars as they always have. Well GT1-5 they definitely did havnt played 7 much as it bored me to tears.

I just finished a 2nd season, 100% British GP (85 AI) in MyTeam (Got DNF from engine failure with only 10 laps to go, though), and Lando was a whopping 48 sec ahead of Lewis in 2nd with the 4th best car, please take note that the McLaren engine R&D was about one major upgrade worth behind the Mercedes.Don't mind about the modded team names, so far I've only done visual related stuff since I'm still testing the careers, and I forgot to take a pic of the race result for the love of god.
During the start of the race, he was already 2-3 sec away from Max in 2nd in like 3 laps, I noticed he was always at least a couple of km/h faster mid-corners. But I couldn't compare that with Daniel because he was stuck in traffic most of the race. Also somehow, the Ferrari had no pace during the race, at all.
I have a copy of save file before this race, will try to add those lines back and rerun the race for a little to see if Lando is still pulling away as if everyone is standing still.I don’t actually know this if ai teams R&d follows the same paths or not. But it’s possible for a lower ranked team to be faster depending on it’s r&d path.
Just for an example. One team could have all brake upgrades that would push that team up the performance rankings without actually making it faster. Compared to a team with the same value in weight reduction
