At the end of my first season starting around Singapore McLaren had the fourth best car but Lando was able to get two wins, three second places, and a third along with earning two Fastest Laps in races.
Yeah Lando is insanely quick in my career as well. He's moved to Alpine end of the first season and it qualifying like 3-5th in the 5th best car. Ocon is where the team would expect to be.
