Just had my first MyTeam race in season 1 in Miami. Did quite a few time trial laps beforehand to learn the track and find a setup that works for my driving style. Playing on 90 on wheel without any assissts. Hardly matched my team mate Piastri in Qualifying, unlike the "used to" circuits, where he was a second behind me.
There is so much time to find at that track, even when I thought I had a good lap, I went several tenths quicker after even more laps. It really needs a lot of confidence to go through the corners like Jeddah sector 1 and the traction zones of Miami sector 3 remind me of Sotchi sector 3, there is a ton of time to be found.
Just go for 30-50 laps around time trial and you'll notice improvements in MyTeam.

Practice objectives don't match the AI level, so there will be times you are failing the objectives, but when it gets to the race or quali, you do better than the objectives were looking for. - 4 years agoIt happened to me yesterday in Bahrain, difficulty 90. Even though I was 0.1 to 0.2 ahead of Albon, in the race training I was three tenths from the green.
