My Theory on the problem off giving us more realistic handling model.

Disclaimer I have no idea what I’m talking about and just thinking out aloud. it’s just a theory.  I’m sure @Meza994  will  correct me if I’m talking nonsense  If would make us to fast.  To the poin...

@ScarDuck14You get it a bit wrong IMO..

    Top speed is okay
    Acceleration mostly too i think
    Same with braking
Tyre temps massively influence the laptimes IRL which is not properly reflected ingame

But the low speed cornering is just working wrong, in very slow it has a too wide turn radius (Monza turn 1 escape road impossible) but normal low speed corners are way too quick.. For comparison in Bahrain:

Turn 1 Esports pole 75kph but IRL 70 kph
Turn 8 Esports pole 85kph but IRL 77 kph
Turn 10 Esports pole 80kph but IRL 74 kph

    For Medium speed:

Turn 4 Esports pole 123kph but IRL 118 kph
Turn 11 Esports pole 165kph but IRL 153 kph
Turn 13 Esports pole 148kph but IRL 135 kph

Turn 13 was a minor mistake by Leclerc IRL last year but you can see the dircetion this takes.. Esports have higher cornering speeds which make sense in medium speed and high speed as they can risk more but at low speed? I dont think F1 drivers would lose 8 kph at 80 kph because they cant risk everything.. Also in addition to that in that Esports lap he had 7 kph more top speed than Leclerc IRL so thats not making much sense.. Faster on the straights but also in the corners? Shouldnt be both if it would be realistic, with the same amount of downforce (reaching same topspeed) esports should have higher cornering speeds (where downforce matters) but not be faster on the straights by such an amount..

However wrong tracks also make a difference, Bahrain might for example not be the right size ratio or something like that..

I feel like low speed/low load grip for tyres (front tyres) is too high, might be the tyres, might be something with the suspension as we saw this year they got even slower in low speed although the front tyres have more grip - due to stiffer suspension.. Its not an awful lot wrong though as realisticly 1 second quicker ingame would likely be realistic!

So it doesnt take a huge amount of differece and some laptimes are just wrong because of the tracks and track specifics (Mexico thin air and wrong S-Curves)

Also its probably not a big grip difference but also when the tyre starts losing grip, like you could fight back for grip in F1 2021 and that edge should probably have been the exact same in F1 22..

    So in short whats needed?
    More accurate tracks
Less front grip at lower (and medium) loads
More subtle transition at the edge of traction
Maybe more stiff suspension - needs to be balanced with lower front grip

More tyre temp importance for a single lap

DRS delta higher (for generally a little higher drag?)

But thats just my take on it
