New Driver Lineup

This might be a stupid question (because it’s the same with any licensed racing game) BUT a why can’t the developer (Ea in this case) update the driver lineups either mid season (if a change) or after the season is over?  Seems like it happens in every other sports game (football hockey baseball etc)

  • @ZacharyeSnyder They probably will if a driver changes mid season. But like fifa if you started a new career the driver that came in mid season would be there at the start off a new career. I’m not sure FOM would like that
  • Thanks for the reply…they’ve never done the mid season ones (like gasly or Albon). And good point with FIFA. But you have a choice. Can use either updated or original.

@ZacharyeSnyder F1 game is still very much a Codemasters title… With the next couple off years I can imagine there will be more EA features good and bad put into the F1 titles. Including how driver transfers work plus how there stats rise and fall

@ZacharyeSnyder No thank you. Some people ask questions. But don’t listen if they don’t get the answer they want to here. Nice knowing there are open minded people still😂
  • @ZacharyeSnyder Codemasters did this one time, back in F1 2019.

If you recall, Pierre Gasly was with Red Bull for half a season, but got swapped with Alexander Albon, who was way better and faster than Gasly despite being in the far slower Toro Rosso.

Due to this, Codemasters decided to switch the seats for Gasly and Albon. For someone who played the game after said update, it might look weird, because it looks like Albon got picked by Red Bull for his first season and Gasly never went to Red Bull to begin with.

Things like this is what makes the Codemasters F1 games so fun, because you can play out different scenarios in your Career saves.
  • That’s a good point. Obviously in an ideal world there would be an option…but understand the complications it could present.

thank you very much for the reply.
