No Live Lap Time Delta in 22 Game?

The latest preview released today shows the new sectors time hud. The lap time sectors on right go purple, red etc as expected however there no longer is a live current lap time delta for example showing your lap or sector is -.520 or +.250 etc now

Seems a bit weird that it only shows the sector time now and not the live lap delta that it used to

This is a really important lap time feature @EA_Kent

@SomaticCoast375 You really need to stop the argument because everyone knows you're wrong.

Even the most hardcore simulators on the market, ACC and iRacing, has the delta bar on the HUD, simply because it's useful for the players, and it's not messing with realism for other players. So there's no reason F1 22 shouldn't have the feature, because the game doesn't even come close to actual realism.

Hopefully you don't ignore my response like previously

@Meza994 Exactly my point. It’s basically a assist. It would good to have it but and they will likely have it in the game but if they actually take it out then it doesn’t make the game any worse really.

Rocket league could be switched for any type of game that’s not based on a real life sport where you will get loads of stuff you can do that’s unrealistic

101 AI ain’t too bad when running without assists especially if you’re on controller

@Tibi2199 I’m not saying they should take it out because I like the feature and would prefer if they keep in the game but if their reasons for taking it out is to make it like real life then it’s more of a annoyance than a bad thing

Never intentionally missed your other reply btw

    @SomaticCoast375 Aah okay.

I agree with everything you say, but to end it I'll just add that while taking the feature out wouldn't make the game any worse, it would make the player experience a worse for a lot of people. So it's important that Codies doesn't just think about their game from the game's perspective, but also from the player's perspective. So we need to voice our opinions if we disagree with something

I drive in cockpit view all the time.  But I find lap delta on the HUD, my screen top left, quite useful.  I sense the red/green colour change in the corner of my eye, even though I don't read the numbers.

rF2 Formula E doesn't have lap delta displayed in the native car wheel graphics.  rF2 is FE's official partner, so pretty appalling it isn't displayed.

  • @FG44141 They need to fix this

It is ok for prac and qual but nothing in the race.

The fastest lap should be carried over to the new session too

A player should be able to choose the delta lap - I used to do this 20 years ago on a F1 sim game !!

Just on this specific point, note that this doesn't happen in real F1.

Regarding lap delta not being displayed in races, you are correct, and it's becoming a bigger and bigger issue for me. TV Pod is the only camera I've ever used. It wasn't until recently, based on a question from my co-op career partner about my race lap times, that I realized I actually have nothing on my screen during a race that tells me my lap delta. All I see is my fastest lap, and when I complete a lap it briefly flashes up that lap time for about two seconds.

In practice and qualifying the lap delta works fine.

I've double-checked my on-screen customization settings for race mode and the delta time is definitely on the screen, but in the live race it's just not there.

Of course I can spend time refining laps in time trial mode, but racing presents so many more variables than the relative utopia of time trial. As I try to improve my ability to push hard against challenging AI and keep race pace - esp. under changing conditions like tire wear - having that lap delta would be so useful for instantly knowing that I've gained/lost time, the same way I would know during a quali lap. As it is, all I know is that the lap as a whole was generally faster or slower.

I'm about to go try out the Cockpit view for this exact reason, and see how easily I can re-acclimate to it.
