No vocal chat (crossplay)

Hello there,

My buddy and I enjoyed crossplay last evening, but we couldn't make the vocal chat work. We've been playing around with the settings (push to talk on or off, auto mute on or off) but we couldn't hear each other. Game sound was fine though.

Also, we didn't had the microphone icon next to our names in the menu. I never played F1 22 online outside of this session, but I remember this is how it worked in previous games.

He's on PC and I'm on PS5, we were on a private lobby with just the two of us.

We had to use another voice call app, which is not convenient on PS5 as you can't install these apps (discord, messenger...)

It seems like other people had this issue as well so it doesn't seem isolated? What would be excellent is to have the possibility to host a private voice chat through with selected users, no matter what platform they play on.

Hi @Tomswweks14, we currently don't support voice in cross play modes.

@EA_Atic is voice chat for cross play going too come out at a later date, this is a pretty essential feature

Best you get on and develop it then pointless having cross play if you can't talk during a two player career mode.

Hi Atic,
Just a quick question about this voice in cross play modes. Is it planned to have this feature in the (near) future?
It took me some time to find this / your answer to this but that explains a lot.
As the other guy I am playing from a computer and my son from PS5. I assume that the only way we can play together in a self defined race is using cross play?
Hopefully you will have a positive answer to this🙏😀

You have the option of the Two Player Career mode as well although I think the same limitation of voice chat not being supported will apply. I have no insider knowledge on this but I have yet to see anything to suggest that voice chat will be added to cross-play. For those that want this your best bet is to use something outside of the game to chat I'm afraid.

but how can i hear thge players but players can't hear me? maybe they are in my gaming platform but my problem is really hearing them but can't communicate with them. Help?
