But this is all depending on the driver ratings which will likely be horrendous again so while the car pecking order is like this it could still be McLaren getting Podiums or Merc drivers not getting podiums while the player can easily get them with the same car
@Meza994Norris has done nothing to be called better than Bottas
- Patteyh4 years agoNew Scout@SomaticCoast375 I would argue he has. He's been best of the rest the last couple of races and had one hell of a season last year

Seeing no updates for Multiplayer, it being announced as "Splitscreen & Multiplayer" (online seems like a huge priority lol) and a delayed patch for crossplattform..
I'm already scared of the patch breaking the game, really hope it doesn't happen this year but I don't have much hope left after the 2021 desaster.
I don't wanna complain too much before release though, so lets hope for the best.

@SomaticCoast375Start of last season? General opinion in the paddock? Bottas whole career at Merc once Hamilton understood the high downforce cars?
Theres plenty of proof that Bottas is a slower driver than Norris especially on race pace. Lets just take a closer look at last season when Bottas had the best car and Norris arguably the 3rd best at the start of the season. Norris was 12 points ahead of Bottas after 8 races and Bottas had only overtaken Norris in the standings after Zandvoort, which was race #13. Thats fairly bad in the fastest car with a big gap to the 3rd on pace.
Conclusion: Norris is the better driver, when you dont like him thats your thing but objectively he is more talented and drives better- ajobling19834 years agoRising Ace
@Meza994 Hey, i know you do a lot of modding and looking at game files etc.
do you know a way to edit the team’s facilities. Say to lock the personnel departments for all teams to level 1 so they cant upgrade?
As this feature is borderline game braking for me…

@ajobling1983I think its not possible sadly, never looked close for something like that but career mode etc. is hard coded and stuff like for example the performance chart cant be changed by modders - i asked😄 - and i would expect everything else that with specific career mode data to be the same, will take another look though.
Or let me phrase it differently, the driver ratings were editable with cheat engine in a very annoying way (long searching and constant checking in the game) and it might be possible to find the departments like that too but A) there are millions if not billions of options (all is displayed as "random" numbers and letters) we would need to search and B) we would need to find each individual teams facilities and can never be sure if we found them because we cant check the other teams facilities.. So even if it was possible via cheat engine it would be sisyphus work ☹️
Im gonna look through the normal files again though but dont expect muchAnd yes totally agree on it being game breaking and a fairly big disappointment after a lot of guys complained over them in the last game.. BUT maybe they made it so that drivers can exceed 100 by the stat boosts.. Would still break the balance (Top team drivers even better compared to lower teams) tho

And even this can change per season, like this year, when some drivers are struggling more.
But if you leave out all the reasons, like pit hassle in Monaco for Bottas, and don't look second half of the season for Norris, you could cut corners like this.
With the same thinking, we can say Russell is much better than Hamilton, Perez is soon as good as Verstappen (maybe even better)...
- Meza9944 years agoSeasoned Ace@gizt7 While you are right with what you say in the first paragraph do you really want to say that Norris staying in front of Bottas in a car that was half a second down on average in qualifying? Was not a much better performance?
2nd half of the season is not a fair comparison with Merc throwing the engines away like Oprah which caused them on average a qualifying gap of 0.8-s while still being even better in the race. Personally i rate Norris about 0.2s quicker in the race and less in qualifying, of course he cant challenge a car that much faster.
Give me some reasoning why the majority of the paddock and journalists are wrong in rating Norris higher than Bottas
