Pad users this setting adjustment may help with snap spin

Ok this year your damned if you do and damned if you dont… let me explain.

using a pad it’s easy to accelerate and it’s easy to turn.  But when doing both this is where our problems lay.

Wheel users will find it easier. Cause the they have enough travel as well as stronger ffb so they can gradually open their steering whilst gradually applying throttle not to mention having gear shift paddles that are positioned perfectly ( It they wasn’t F1 cars wouldn’t have them in the same place)

But pad users as you know we have a little tiny stick and little tiny triggers.  And unless your bless with massive amounts off finesse in your things.   Steering inputs are almost max angle or no angle and same with max power or no power.

So using no tc med tc can often result in snap spin even if you just a tiny bit to much power or steering angle.

And using full tc means car is always bog downed slow heavy and miserable:

then if your using auto gears it’s hard to hold a high or low gear which exaggerates the problem.

Now the you tube elites post what settings to use on pads.  But they are all top 1% percent most are some pretend they are., So they have no idea off what settings would benefit us average joes., and more to the point they don’t even use a pad as they all have direct drive sim setups that costs ridiculous amounts:

And the fact they all say this setting should be between 270-300 is completely wrong. In past years games yes it was because steering was less responsive  but this year definitely not.

So go to controller settings then FFB settings. Then Max wheel rotation. Default setting is 360.

Instead off decreasing it by massive amount., increase it by 20 degrees then go on track and see how it feels. I suggest Bahrain.

by increasing it: means when adding steering inputs it reduces  how much steering angle is applied .  Which means accelerating without tc is easier and with traction control less interference due to less angle.

Also this is something you should adjust track to track as tight tracks will benefit from decreasing it and fast tracks  will benefit increasing

this is not the meta in any way shape or form. I’ve found 400 degrees works for me. But all the best settings setups are how they feel to the player.  I’m only suggesting you should give it a try if your struggling using a pad/,  some may find 600 degrees works. Some will no don’t think I’m talking nonsense as they prefer the same settings the elites use.  Longs it works it right

@BadMayh3m He's very fast but your statement about him changing how everyone drives, what do you mean by that? Is that hyperbole?

@BadMayh3m Noticed he selects and holds higher gears in slow corners.. obviously benefits traction out off those corners and he selects and holds lower gears in faster gears. (Which can’t be done in career or my team due to gearbox wear)

@ScarDuck14 This technique is used in Motocross to carry more speed through corners.
In moto you go into the corner a gear or 2 higher then slip the clutch to keep the revs up.
This is why I noticed his technique caused I raced Moto in my young days.

@mariohomohOn a start I got a good jump out of the gate on a YZ 400E in second gear, I had an Inside line cause of gate position when the outside was faster I slowed down a little to much and the guys handlebars on both sides overlaped mine about half way on both sides. We took at least 2 others with us with me on the bottom!
Nobody was hurt and we ALL kept going!
    Good Times

You know us Noisy Silverback Baboons😁
