Maybe Driver perks could and should be a thing that needs adding. Later on in a career save, I find I’m signing a teammate just to have a change. If driver perks were a thing then, I’d have to think a bit more carefully on who I sign. So for example, Perez is known to be very good at saving tyres. I might only be able to do upgrades to engine, chassis and/or reliability so I fail to address any tyre wear issues. I would need to sign a driver that is good at saving tyres to help maximise points for that half to full season.
Tyre saving = 10% less tyre wear in the game
Wet weather = can give +5 pace in low wetness, high wetness or all wetness (Stroll only high wetness, Vettel low wetness, Hamilton and Verstappen all wetness)
but there im already struggling to find other perks.. Maybe development drivers getting you 10% more resource points or being good at specific tracks (+5 pace on this track)
any more ideas?

I think a wet weather perk would be good. There could also be ‘Home Race’ perks. So if it’s a drivers home race they get a 5-10% pace bonus for that race. The perks could be similar to like Motorsport Manager. If driver perks ever did become a thing then, they would have to match something each driver is well known for in terms qualifying or races. For me personally, having something specific for each driver would greatly influence my choice when signing a new teammate.

I dont like the homerace thing too much because you never know how much its just the driver or the team giving the driver slightly more engine power etc.. But at least a focus boost is something im 100% behind and maybe even +5 pace.. But getting something for everyone is really not easy, for Latifi i cant come up with anything- Liaveal4 years agoRising Veteran
Here to back this idea.. although it should be now and not wait for 2023.
Theres several solutions they can do:
1. Remove them altogether.
2. Make them Player My Team only.
3. Massively nerf them. Instead of 5/10/15 it should drop to 1/3/5.
4. Remove stat boosts from Marketing and have Personnel do the same as Marketing but just for the drivers. Obviously remove the permanent boosts here.
5. Rework them into a training facility (this would be something for future games)
6. Could have stats go over 100 but would still have the top team snowball effect (especially if R&D upgrades are still locked behind facility tiers) so not the best solution.
7. Remove them.
8. Remove.
9. Delete them.
10. Make them vanish.
