I would like F1 23 to be released when it's ready. Many would argue that F1 22 was released too early given the bug situation at launch so I certainly wouldn't be pushing for F1 23 to arrive early.
That's not to say that in principle I wouldn't like the launch of each new game to coincide with the start of each new F1 season. Of course I would!
Don’t forget that there’s a reason why the game is launched when it is..
and that is Silverstone weekend. Why is it important? Silverstone is birthplace of F1. Home to British motor racing etc etc
Most likely is Codemasters campus is right next door to Silverstone. So it’s logistically easier for Codemasters when comes to the big launch.. That’s why Silverstone is covered with the games advertising boards
It may come earlier as EA hold no sentiment so may decide on a earlier date

Plus, EA is based/has headquarters in USA, so they don’t really have much affiliation with the British GP.
I definitely think they should consider not releasing a new game one year to help the following year and beyond massively.
Besides, they’ll still make a lot of sales if they do that, because people will just buy the current game (which would now be the next season’s F1 game) for the new drivers, teams, story mode, and other things.Either that, or they could just release the next F1 game in March/April with the exact same things as they’d do just updating the previous game, and then align the game with the real life season which would be very popular (and hopefully have many less bugs and glitches).

So we may hope for a May (Miami) release for the future 🥳

I would be amazed if this ever intentionally happened due to the profit that would be lost by doing so. Imagine being a game dev pitching the idea to senior management and being asked to convince them that the profit lost from the year that is skipped could be guaranteed to be more than recouped in the long run... Also bear in mind that a year wasn't skipped whilst dealing with the challenges of the covid pandemic.

Very, very true. But they’d still make some income from new people coming to buy the game if they didn’t already buy F1 22. Plus, they could just make it a paid DLC for the new liveries, new cars, championship, tracks, etc.
But yes, your point is true - there isn’t any total guarantee they’d make money back in the long run, but I think they’d have a good shot if they chose the right paths.
You raise a really good point too! Although compared to previous seasons, this season (being the second after a big regulation change) there shouldn’t be too many big changes to the strengths and weaknesses, and drag/downforce/power of the cars.
And I don’t think they need to make any big changes to the AI in regards to adapting them to this years’ cars (because of how relatively similar they should be).But there is always a chance that they might want to make changes to the AI if they believe they didn’t handle the 2022 cars accurately/well enough.
I guess even if we got the game in May, or even June, it’d be better than over halfway (just) through the year like it has been previously.
