If the Aston Martin turns out to really be good enough for Alonso to be in a fight with the Hamilton and Russell then that could be entertaining even if Red Bull and Ferrari are still the only ones with a realistic chance of regularly contesting race wins.
We will of course get a much better idea of where everyone is as next weekend but if forced to bet on next year's drivers champion right now I'd have relatively little hesitation of backing Verstappen (sadly).
