Pre-Season Tests, Red Flag and Pit Lane Starts

We have three features in F1 22 that we really need to have:

• Pre-Season Tests: which would serve to test the car, chassis, aerodynamics, maximum straight-line speed, its behavior, etc.

• Pit-Lane Start: when changing components on race day.

• Red Flag: when we had a really strong crash, we had this feature in F1 2012 and I loved it...

Definitely! I suggested a few practice programms for Pre-Season

    For example,

    • a lap on maximum fuel so 110kg
    • high tyre wear runs - what you can manage with nearly worn out tires
    • minimum engine wear - no ERS deployment suggested and very early upshifts and no kerbs taken
    • maximum and minimum downforce setup runs - only changing the front and rear downforce settings so your general setup can be adjusted accordingly to this.

All of them could just be rewarded so the faster you go the more resource points you get, 5 levels for each programm getting you 300 or 500 R&D points maximum depending on the whole balance of R&D points per upgrade..

Additionally a "car internals" durability stat would help in the game, just like Red Bull and Alpine struggled with their having everything internally correct with fuel flow, hydraulics etc. this would be the overall chance for a mechanical failure (not necessarily race ending) that you have to do the R&D for every new season and you can gather R&D points especially during pre season test for this, but what if you havent spend anything on it during the winter break and have such poor reliability that you can barely run any programs and barely have enough to get this durability up.. Would spice things up like for a big regulation change a team could go heavily for reliability but only medium pace but because a faster car breaks down a lot they end up higher in the championship..

All 3 you mentioned are definitely needed in the game.

Agreed 👍. …Too bad Codemasters won’t be giving us any of those and instead we’ll be getting watches, sunglasses, more goofy dance animations, more unrealistic asymmetrical liveries and not forgetting supercars to look at, because that’s EXACTLY what every fan of the series has been wanting for years now 😒
  • @Luizeus23 These are things we have been asking for for many years now. I fear we won’t get them but I’m willing to be surprised

@Meza994 I like your ideas. Especially the tyre wear one and the car internals

Man, I agree completely. And one more thing then we needs. Is a more realistic damage system. It's crazy to see a big shunt on the back, and any visual change... I am really anxious for F1 22. Because a love the F1 and how works.

@Luizeus23 It will be interesting to see how the damage model will work on the new cars. I just hope we don’t go backwards from last year with being able to get damage to the floor, rear wing and diffuser as well

More realistic features the better! I hope Codemasters and EA will surprise us with new features and be a really good game. Any news about when we will have more informations about F1 22?

@Hempyjr I would expect we will get some more info in 2-3 weeks seeing as we are 9 weeks from release.
