Re: AI gaining Massive Speed on the straights

I'm playing on PS5 using a controller with auto gears and medium TC. I've noticed that changing the "Tyre Temperature" settings to "surface only" makes a massive difference to the amount of traction and subsequently straight line speed in both driver career and grand prix mode. With this setting enabled I am now able to overtake cars at the end of long straights that start with heavy traction zones (such as after the hairpin in Canada and into turn 4 in Austria). I do still need to play with the differential in the race though to help with traction and not spinning out.

I would be interested to know whether this helps/works for other players, including those using wheels. Might be a possible work around until some more patches are applied.

@Burbz7 think your onto something.  Havnt done any actual testing. But did notice similar

  • @Burbz7 while I don't have trouble in career or gp mode, I did see that this year, tyres seems to work in a higher and narrower temperature band (between 95 and 100 degrees) it is possible that those who don't work them enough and never reach those temperatures could have more trouble.
