Re: AI overtaking slow cars

I’m not getting any beeps for @ing me.

Meza is right:  whenever I’ve won a race in first season off my team it’s generally because Bottas and Hamilton have hit into the first corner and the one with front wing damage comes out in front.  Won spa because exactly that happened.  End off first lap had 5 second lead and considering I didn’t take the lead to midway through second sector.

Think something needs like Meza suggests needs to be applied.  But also like he says it’s all good when he goes in our favour.   But real problem is when my team is 1st in performance rankings and I’m on pole:   I’ve managed on occasion to get a 8 second lead by the end off first lap.

Should also add.. if anyone is wondering why other ai didn’t overtake Bottas in sector 1.  When Ai receives front wing damage.  Like the ‘real world’ the ai cars don’t lose any acceleration or top end speed.

@ScarDuck14 Thats why im suggestion divebombing, because the AI brake earlier, or going around the outside of a corner due to way slower cornering speed 🙂

I’ve watched tons off 22 you tube vids and dive bombing AI seems to be in full effect.  So I’m going to guess the game will launch with super aggressive ai until the devs listen to people whinge and it’s patched and put back on its rails again.

@ScarDuck14 They do it on fast cars yes, causing more crashes lol but im talking about a clean sweep around the outside or clean divebomb, like in COTA you can still see in a lot of the vids that they go through the esses in a slow train

Also should point out in tom97 last video at COTA he received front wing damage but didn’t slow him down and still put in fast laps.  I assume this to be due to ground effect. So would assume ai  don’t suffer as badly either

@ScarDuck14 Its not only front wing for the AI and i doubt that the game will be that far off reality in terms of front wing importance for cornering. I suspect a bug, not finished values or waste case even deactivated damage haha but you can believe me if you take off half of a front wings half it will affect the handling big time still just less than in 2021 or prior years

@Meza994 I don’t doubt it.  It’s pretty hard to know until in my case I’m behind the pad.  And get a feel for the handling. But from just what I’ve seen I don’t think ai will patiently sit behind other wounded ai cars this year. They look feisty

@ScarDuck14 Well i saw exactly that happening in exactly that video you were talking about, the AI were stuck behind Norris lap 1 (i think) and only 2 cars got past him till he pitted. From the Esses down to the pits in COTA where they lost like 6-7s over the lap.

This is not how it would go IRL and they seem more aggressive this year, which is good (except for them still jumping out of the way when you get near them hahaha) but they should be even more aggressive or trained to go around the outside of damaged cars.

@Meza994  you are right regarding Lando.   I actually forgot that part as in my eyes Lando never drives so slow😁

But in that video and other wet races  I felt ai were slow overall.   Whereas In dry races I’ve seen some crazy fun time dive bombing by the ai.  I hope ai following damaged ai until they pit isn’t a thing this year.  Trouble is I don’t think anyone put it in the real cm forum suggestion box.  So the devs may not be aware off the issue.  😁

@ScarDuck14 Oh i bet they are aware, bigger question is if there was time besides F1 Life😂 You can never be sure at what difficulty they play and the AI is also supposed to not be final.. Kiefer only got to P8 or P9 coming from the back at 110 AI so for all those flying through the grid i somewhat doubt its 110 AI or the AI is not balanced properly for the tracks which they are slow on

@Meza994 Kiefer was using default setup, at least in the wet, the difference may be huge on his performance

@Nuvolarix True but from what i saw in most videos they use default setups.. Anyway what i wanted to say is we should wait for the finished game to make any assumptions on AI balancing

    I don’t think they were at 110
