Re: Autosave

I'm not convinced the auto-save option does anything either but I'm open to being corrected.

To do what you have in mind I think you'd probably need to make a manual copy of your save game file that you could then put back it you wanted to go back and do things differently.

(This is easier on PC or PS4 but on PS5 it could be done using an unsynched cloud save. I know nothing about how save files are managed on XBOX consoles.)

Not absolutely sure but with auto save off you have to turn your device off for it to take effect.

Be WARNED you might LOSE ALL your data iirc.

Last game cycle the updates would reset this to off sometimes and I learned real quick to check ALL settings after updates.

I turn off auto-save off to change difficultly for qualifying so I that I get it right. If turned off and the sessions AI is too high or too low, I come out of the whole game and restart it. Then it'll return me to the the control room setup upon reloading.

If using auto-save and you decide to change the AI difficulty, a reset all return you to the start of the session with the same difficulty.I find it useful to keep auto-save off and when I do want the game to save I head into the items shop and then come out again as it'll save the game regardless of your save game settings. Be warned though, if you have auto-save OFF and change the game settings while in a driving session, it'll save the settings AND the game. So I don't make any settings changes in driving sessions. This is all on the PS4/5 so not sure how it works on the PC.

Oh that's interesting to know. I play on PS5 and actually the lack of any manual save option is partly what made me think the autosave on/off option didn't make sense and so may well not do anything. If there are some situations where it still autosaves but others not that it makes slightly more sense. Although the naming and lack of explanation in-game isn't very helpful!
