Re: Can't join Cross Play lobbies - Error Code PM7

I was able to do something similar 2 days ago and it is working 100% for me on STEAM-PC. The difference is that I uninstalled Avast antivirus Premium and only left its Clean and Driver Update plugins. I also made a post in this thread with a YouTube link that I found after researching for almost 2 weeks Unfortunately in several leagues I could not enjoy this error that leaves you very disappointed while practicing for those Gps. I hope it is a solution for the Pc companions

    Well, I sadly regret to inform that THE ISSUE IS NOT SOLVED yet..

    Not even using the solution presented here (by yours truly):

    https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues/Can-t-join-Cross-Play-lobbies-Error-Code-PM7/m-p/12010035#M8843

    It actually worked just fine a few days ago, but then I just tried it again today (saturday, november 5th, 2022) and even with the Anti-Virus shields turned off, I had a hard time joining the cross play lobbies, getting the same PM7 or the PM65539 error message (seems to be related to connectivity issues) and even when I was able to connect to a cross play lobbies, I found 'broken' lobbies, like for example:

    - Beginner Friendly lobbies with almost 20 people constantly 'loading', with 1 or 2 'real people' only (which were actually probably just bots) and the session would never advance..

    - Beginner Friendly lobbies that had only 1 (one) track (Canada)

    - Beginner Friendly lobbies with contact on (it should be off)

    - Beginner Friendly lobbies that would take ages to load and would only move on after there was a 'migrating host' message and/or people would start to leave until there were only 3 or 4 people left..

    Long story short:

    Beginner Friendly Cross Play lobbies are NOT working properly.

    I play the game on a PC, through Steam (Champions Edition), but some people from Play Station and X-Box (and probably Origin too) are also reporting similar experiences - the game can connect to the lobbies just fine if Cross Play is turned off though - which indicates the issue IS related to the cross play system..

    It was all working fine until Patch 1.14 was released, so I tend to believe something on that patch 'broke' the cross play system somehow.

    Sadly, there's nothing we can do other than turn cross play off if we want to play without too much stress, but that gives us only small lobbies with a lot less drivers to race against, making the whole cross pay feature kind of pointless..

    Thanks for following up. Sorry to hear it's started happening again. I'll pass this along.

    @EA_Kent

    Thank you, mate and I'm sorry the solution was NOT a solution..

    I tested it several times a few days ago (when I thought it was a solution) and it worked each time. Sadly, it was just not working yesterday (saturday), although I was actually able to join a few cross play lobbies, but as I said, most of the time, I got some issues and couldn't join or race properly, which clearly shows the cross play lobbies (at least on those Beginner Friendly lobbies) are not working properly.

    All of these issues began to happen about 3-4 weeks ago, when patch 1.14 was released, so I tend to believe something in that patch started to cause these inconsistencies and problems in communication between some of the cross play devices - it doesn't seem to affect everyone, but it is affecting several people on different platforms (not just me and not just Steam) - I know this because people from other platforms that were playing with me yesterday said they're having the same problems trying to join most of the cross play beginner friendly lobbies - I don't know if it's affecting other types of lobbies, since I only like to play those beginner friendly ones (because of no contact, so no drama) and due to the problems yesterday, I ended up creating my own lobby (with the beginner friendly rules & configs) and that was how I was able to play with people from other platforms that said they're having the same issues on Play Station, X-Box, etc..

    @SexyBrigadeiro I can't believe it!

    I was confident we have a workaround, even I made a video (Spanish) explaining how to solve this problem

    https://youtu.be/JL6C57CHGs4

    I can race my Thursday championship this way. AlsoThibaut Courtois, who races with us, could race after he deactivates his antivirus. So, 2 of 20 players had this problem and could "survive" whit this solution.

    10% is not a small problem, @EA_Kent so please put this issue high on the list

    @navarreitor @EA_Kent

    I was able to race on a cross play lobby, but only a custom one that I created myself.

    The problem appeared on the Beginner Friendly AND on the Experienced Players (25% race distance) cross play lobbies - I kept getting the PM7 error on both.

    And when I was able to join a lobby (after several tries, or by picking a Beginner Friendly cross play lobby manually from the list on the Browse section), I would get 'broken' lobbies with lots of inexistent players (who would be loading forever) and one host that was not actually active - so the lobby would be 'stuck' and just wouldn't advance sessions, or anything - like this:

    So.. MAYBE it IS possible for you and your friends to drive on that league race, if you guys use the instructions to turn off the anti-virus - because that's a custom lobby created by you guys.

    BUT the public cross play lobbies (Beginner Friendly & Experienced Drivers) are full of issues to some people (most of the time we can't join and get the PM7 error, or when we join, we get the scenario of the pic above)..

    @SexyBrigadeiro I was able to create an online lobby (waiting a long time) and the invite friends before deactivate AVG. It was an Only Friends type but I guess would be available also without restrictions , so perhaps we are in the first page of this annoying story

    @navarreitor Yes, mate.
    It seems the problem is mainly on the public/default lobbies from the game, but if we create a custom lobby ourselves it might work (using that anti-virus workaround or not).

    Still it's clear to me that there are some issues with cross play right now and it's affecting a lot of people - I hope they sort it out and get it fixed and working properly ASAP, as it was until about when patch 1.14 was deployed..

    PM7 is a Crossplay issue for sure. Restart your game if you toggle Crossplay on or off. It locks some people out of a custom lobby and it eventually crashed (EGO Dumper) if you don't.

    Thank you for the additional info on this, everyone.

    I just wanted to let you all know we're still looking into this, and we'll continue passing along your findings.

    Don't know if this info will help.

    Sometimes coming out of a BF race I'll get a screen that has Standings and Race Director.

    If this screen DOESN'T have a timer or Advance button I'm stuck and have to quit the build to get out.

    That screen usually has a timer and advance button which is why it might be part of the problem is my thinking.
