Hi @OlyDave96,

Apologies for the delayed response. We've notified the dev team about this issue and it is currently being tested to see if the issue can be repeated by the team. In the meantime, would you be able to provide the following info:

  • Has anything changed from your side since you were previously able to access the crossplay mode, e.g. PSN ID, PlayStation console or internet connection?
  • Are you able to try launching the game with a different PSN account to see if that also has issues enabling the crossplay option?
  • Please could you try the following steps and let us know if this allows you to work around this issue:
    1. Launch the game and immediately attempt to enable crossplay from the main menu.
    2. If this fails, please fully close the game down and then immediately relaunch the game and repeat step 1.

@Hoobiechoobie Hi, nothing as changed my side like I stated in my bug report, same ps5 console same psn and same Internet which I've tried lan and WiFi. Tried a new psn account same problem I get the unable to connect to Playfab error message before the title screen loads. An same message when trying your method of opening game getting error message then close the game and try enabling crossplay again, no fix.
Lots of people are having the same problem since your last patch, before that I never had an issue so please fix this ASAP if you want me to be a returning customer again next year.....

    Hi All,

    We are still investigating this and have some questions that might help us track down this issue:

    For anyone experiencing this issue, please could you confirm the following:

    • The platform you are playing on.
    • Whether booting the game on a new profile allows you to enter crossplay mode.
    • Whether you participated in any crossplay sessions during the crossplay preview periods (August 5-7 and August 12-14).

    I know we've already had answers to the above from a couple of players, but would be good to more info to help spot any patterns. For example, we haven't had any reports of this from players on Origin / EA App and that could be a significant lead.

      Hi All,

      An additional line of investigation is for us to enable extended logging for any users experiencing this issue to see if that provides any more clues as to what is happening. If this is something that you are happy with then please send me a direct message and I'll run through process with you.

      From the above thread, it look like the following users have reported this issue: @OlyDave96, @Wollcott, @trimtrimma11 & @Michaellawlor342. It looks like @TheRedEyeJedi93 might have hit a different issue, but still worth confirming with the extra logging.

      @Hoobiechoobie Hi, I believe I'm having the same problem. On the 25/08 was the first time I seen the Playfab error. It appears as I enter the main menu, then again if I try and enable crossplay.

      I tried the connection guide when it happened, Then your recommendations tonight but it's the same. The only workaround for me was to game share to a new steam account. I log out of the account the game is purchased on, log into the second account and crossplay works fine. Even my saved replays from the original account are still there.

      The other thing I noticed but I'm not 100% here and going off memory. With one of the recent updates (last two weeks) I'm almost positive I had to re-agree to the T&C's pages at game launch. This was on the second account after already using it for a few weeks .... Tonight when trying my original account with the Playfab error, It's been unused for since the 25/08, I didn't get any T&C's request at game launch. Could it be something as simple as for whatever reason were aren't able to accept the T&C's and therefor cant enable crossplay.

      I'd also be happy to try the extended logging or even sharing my steam account if you guys are struggling to replicate the error. I've tested my account on 3 separate PC's at 2 different locations so I'm sure it would be the same for anyone using my account. I'll DM to sort this.

      Steam.
      Game sharing to a different steam account works.
      Yes I raced in both crossplay preview periods.
