Product: F1 22
Platform: PC (Origin)
Summarize your bug After a few months playing without (almost) any problem, after the last update the game kept giving me "Unable to connect to PlayFab" error. If I try to enter a multiplayer league/campaign it stucks on "contacting online services"
What is your 16 digit Report Code? MSHG-MBXX-AVET-DBCE
Which area is the bug/glitch in? Game opening - or - enabling crossplay - or - entering multiplayer
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Did you have cross-play enabled? No (just because it gives me this error, before that I'm pretty sure it was enabled)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Use my account or my PC (available to use teamviewer or enable extendend loggin. Skilled user here (computer programmer)! But please, let us resolve this annoying problem!)
What happens when the bug occurs? No crossplay - No multiplayer (league, multiplayer campaign, all others multiplayer features - even if not crossplay)
What do you expect to see? Multiplayer working.
Now I'll explain all the steps I performed to try to resolve the problem. It's quite obvious I already followed basic and advanced connection troubleshooting guide in the ea site. All of the steps did not resolved the issue.
- Restarted the router
- Changed connection (wired and wireless)
- Tried to start the game with administrator privileges
- Tried to start Origin (both the daemon and the program) with administrator privileges
- TRIED TO OPEN THE GAME WITH A DIFFERENT ORIGIN ACCOUNT -> that worked, but it's of a friend of mine so that's not a real solution!
- Reinstalled the game
- Reinstalled Origin
- Reinstalled the OS (Windows 10)
- Uninstalled everything and reinstalled the game with EA App
- Tried to start EA App (both the daemon and the program) with administrator privileges
- Enabled UPnP
- Changed DNS (and cleared DNS cache) to Google and to Cloudflare
- Cleared DNS cache
- Invalidated and renewed IP assignment
- Allowed the game in the legacy Windows firewall
- Allowed the game in the new Windows firewall
- Enabled/disabled windows firewall
As you can see, I tried a lot of different workarounds but none of these worked. Since the method of switching accounts worked, it seems it's an account related issue. Particularly it looks like PlayFab (that I suppose it is the crossplay service) doesn't recognize my account.
What actually get me angry is that I don't need crossplay so I should be able to play multiplayer with my friends even without it, but when I try to access a "NOT CROSSPLAY" private room, I enter in an infinite loading screen of "connecting online services". That is so frustrating..
