Re: F1® 22 - Patch 1.06 Discussion Thread
Can't blame the game's condition on EA. They had no impact on 2021 and it was just as bad. Aside from the forum shifting and ALL of the marketing, 2022 is still very much a codemasters game under the EA banner.
The real problem is that the game needs to be rebuilt from the ground up. They keep bolting bits on to a broken game and then retro fixing issues. The issue with doing so is it, like FIFA or madden etc, is a yearly cycle title so there will never be the time to rebuild it the way it needs.
Because we keep buying it year on year, they don't see the need to overhaul it. YouTubers keep making their videos and pulling in new customers at very little cost to the studio. They're making their money (and ignoring refund requests), so why should they care? The odd patch to fix liveries, eye colours etc will shut the majority of players up and the rest can just live with it.
Until as a collective, we stop filling their pockets with our cash, nothing will change. I said back in 2020 that 2021 needed to be a DLC update to teams and drivers, to allow them to fully focus on the 2022 game considering the raft of chances to the actual sport, or we'd end up with the same **** again.. but here we are.
