Re: F1® 22 - Patch 1.16 Discussion Thread

@bundesautobahn7 Soon after game released there was a thread discussion about having atleast one female driver. A few people tried to argue against it. But there argument was weak and we are mighty💪👍

  • @ScarDuck14 Tatiana is my teammate in my Andrea Moda career in F1 2020. Maybe one day we'll see a woman win the WDC in real life. I mean, even outside of driving we have some great female F1 talent, such as Hannah Schmitz, who put those Ferrari strategists to shame.

@bundesautobahn7 I only have eyes for Aston Martins…. Jessica Hawkings…. 🥰🥰🥰😍. I’m a passionate supporter of equal opportunities. But I’m still a man who loves the beauty women. 👍

I usually go for Charouz in F2 and they don't have a female driver ☹️

I felt sorry for Tatiana when all-women crew couldn't finish 24hr Le Mans in 2021. But it was good to see them compete in such endurance race.

I am also concerned that because of W Series, they won't be able to make it to F1. but at least they have a competition where they can race each other.

@P4st3l1ak think you’re right. Women need to strive to compete in F2 so they can properly show their potential to watching F1 teams.

As there are so few Women racing drivers. Means less likely to fill the W series with drivers that have the potential to be an elite. Which inturn means any that do. Learning curve is severelu hampered by not racing against other highly skilled drivers.

They are apparently modifying the F2 car because the women cannot drive it without power assisted steering.

I have no sympathy for females not having the physicality required. It is not a barrier, look at Alice Powell. The woman is nails. Unfortunately, Chadwick appears to have the better driving skills, but I have respect for Powell as she raced the men without complaint and scored points*.

*I should add the above was in GP3.

@SteveJackson I always defend everyone’s right for equal opportunity: But will always push back against equality of outcome ideas.

Everyone should have an equal opportunity. To prove they are the best

Did they assist Kubica on his return to F1? Did they change the formula / rules for him? I do feel that a few parties burned money on a romantic story - I am not dismissive of the injuries sustained by Kubica either or his determination to return to competition but there is a hard edge to realism.

This is a very murky idea / area. I'm not against opportunity for women, what I do disagree with is falsely validating them or segregation where it is not necessary. I am not saying that many categories of motorsport do not run at a commercially viable level without sponsorship, but the total failure of the W Series to provide any contest to Chadwick and likewise that funding was pulled because of the non-spectacle is unsurprising.

Kubica got back due to sponsors, he's a big deal in Poland and Orlen invests a lot of money in F1 😉

And he also tried it in Le Mans, although unsuccessfully so far.

I am also against false validation because that just deceives the person. However, giving an opportunity might open unknown doors for that person and you never know what they can achieve.

It could be much better if they got same amount of money F1 teams get. Crippling factor is always the investment in teams and sponsorship for drivers.

@P4st3l1ak But this is the problem in women’s sports in general. When equal pay gets brought up. Investors and sponsors will put money into anything if it has a big enough audience. Women’s sport doesn’t. Men’s basketball in USA subsidies the women’s league massively. As the women’s games only get a few hundred spectators turn up and watch.

And this is the point. Women don’t watch or like sport in general. So they don’t turn up to watch it. Until they do women’s sport will always be behind the men’s equivalent, Because men like to playsport and go to watch sport.

Very much this. It's an argument that is bandied around quite regularly but the facts are often ignored. The example of the Women's NBA is particularly pertinent to the argument; the numbers are just not there. And arguably the quality is not there too but that's another argument in regards to infrastructure in early years of development and access to facilities and opportunities.

So still impossible to use auto gears in the wet without full traction control.  Went from pole to   being so ridiculously slow  I ended up just driving into a barrier to crash out… Before I raged out.

I’ve not tried 1.16 yet, having quit mid-season with 1.15 due to AI frustrations.

Has there been any change / improvement to AI consistency across tracks?

I got as far as Azerbaijan where I’d had races in a McLaren that got close to podiums and then was suddenly struggling to get out of Q3 and the AI cars seemed to pull away from slow corners far quicker than I could.

    I've got a problem!

The helmet in slot 30 of PODIUM PASS I PAID for already during the week sales!

Do I get my pit coin back since I already bought it and EVERYONE is now getting it for free?

So I guess I NEVER buy from that list anymore cause they MIGHT be free down the road?!

Someone missed the BOAT on this one!

Please advise as Im sure this is an oversight,

    Thanks!

  • @BadMayh3mTbf, couldn’t you have looked if it was included as a podium pass reward, before you decided to purchase it? (Unless it was a season change recently. I don’t keep track).

”So I guess I NEVER buy from that list anymore cause they MIGHT be free down the road?!”
    - I guess… If you want the item *now*  then pay up. Or you can wait, and hope it might be gifted at some point in the future. It’s up to you.

Personally, I don’t buy anything from item shop. And the podium pass level is just an annoying screen that pops up after every single race/session, and even worse when it levels up. Because then it has to show what ”I won” and will never use. All while I franticly spam the skip button.

@WigglyStyle I bought it 2 to 3 weeks ago during the week sales long before this podium pass.
I paid for the Pass and now I find out I had to pay twice for it.
    I'm at level 28 already.

I will NOT be buying anymore items from the weekly store till this is fix and I suggest other to do the same.
  • @BadMayh3m

”I will NOT be buying anymore items from the weekly store till this is fix and I suggest other to do the same.”

I think you made a wise decision. And I agree that others should atleast question the value and/or their need for the items, especially before they spend (waste) any real money on extra pitcoins. But instead of ’a fix’ I would rather see the entire pass/liveries/items/livingroom concept get thrown out, and replaced by a decent custumization feature to design our own liveries. I would be more interested/tempted to purchase pitcoins if the podium pass and item shop offered stuff like different logos, paint colors, patterns, and other design features of car parts.

But tbh, what I only really wish is a f1 23 release with no new features at all. No ’supercars’, ’breaking point story stuff’ or ’my place IKEA simulator’. I just want my classic cars back, improved ffb, reliable online lobbys, decent physics and hadling. Basically just a copy of 22, but playable on release. I would gladly pay doubble price for that.

Thanks for fixing Schumacher's missing helmet when he changes teams, talk about an immersion breaker.
