@EA_Atic please don't mark as solved. We have paid for this product, VR was advertised. It is not a solved problem. Mark as solved when solved.

In my trial - error tests I found that If I turn off in graphics settings Tab the oclusion and in VR menu I check "overrides steam resolution· an move the slider to 95, The game runs smooth in my Reverb G2, and dont crash....played a 10 laps race and all worked fine.
Now will try to run DLSS on in balanced or quality mode to see if it crash.
My rig specs are:
I9 - 10850k, 64gb, msi 3080ti 12gb and reverb G2 with motion retroprojection in always on on steam, and default steam settings.
In game settings VR high minus mirrors (low) DLSS (off) and occlusion (Off)
Hope this Help, think the most "demanding" is the ambient oclussion, don't know why
yeah! I'm also having this weird camera movement issue when using VR... It makes you sick within hours of playing! this problem cannot be ignored as it really gets in the way of VR users.
I loved the game, but I can't play it (not this way)…
- Thank's, i hope they fix it.
I did some extensive testing and think that "texture streaming" seems very responsible.
with the following settings i've stable 90fps with no jittering at all. head movement is smooth.

Hi All
As am having the same issue when looking right and left "VR jittering", it's definitely something needs to be improved in the VR performance by EA, however sharing the work around for better performance worked for me.
Graphic Settings
1-Aniti-Aliasing = TAA+AMD FSR 1.- upscale "not sure if same case for everyone"
2-AMD FSR Quality level = Balanced
3-Lower the graphic settings "pc based, medium works perfect for me"
VR Settings
1-Enable Override steamVR scaling value "this also could be done from steam VR "make sure to restart SteamVR and the game after apply new settings"
2-Reduce scale factor "75 works for me" and this is vary from pc to another "however it will reduce the clarity
So to summarize, you need to find the balance by selecting the anti-aliasing works best for you, then give some graphics and scaling from steam VR to find your sweet spot.
I hope EA fix this soon and also would be great if OpenXR guys made F1 22 compatible as it is a life changer in VR performance "had similar games performance struggle and OpenXR is magical in improving performance"
Note: when testing those setting, make sure to test while drive not in before race start as it jitters anyway with whatever setting I try "for me"
Hope that helps.

GPU: RTX 3080

VR: Reverb G2
Anybody got a fix for the crashing problem yet? Now it crashes every other lap, literally unplayable.
- @Flame78928 dont Work for me. Not just a little bit.
Processor: AMD Ryzen 7 3800x
RAM: 32 GB DDR4
GPU: Gigabyte RTX 2070 Super Gaming OC
Win: 11
VR: Meta Quest 2 - @Silvercrow1983 We have different pc's, so i guess the key is balancing between the VR Scaling and the Graphics, also before that reduce your graphics to low and check which anti-aliasing works provide u the best performance and visibility.
- @Flame78928 i checked all anti-aliasing setting. All very high or very low(maximum low doesn`t help too). Nothing helps or make the jitter better.
I think there is another fundamental issue in this GAme with VR that only can solve (in my case) with an Patch.
I don't feel like dealing with all the problems anymore. It make's me sad every time I try to fix it and nothing helps.
☹️ - @Silvercrow1983 Sorry man it didn't work for you, i really hope they work on solid fix or we get OpenXR for F1 22 which will change the performance big time.
Somewhat related (another VR only issue), do you see your hud in VR? As in when you are in cockpit view I think I am missing some vital information that flat screen user get. Like the objectives you have to achieve when in practice mode. I only see the bottom right info when in VR. Seems like another bug. You can switch the hud to "on" in the hud settings but that doesnt do anything.

Same here. Game runs very fine on Quest 2 via Airlink. Lot of free headroom performance.
No matter the settings, i repeat NO MATTER THE SETTINGS, when you look around is super stuttering.
You start the race, game is supersmooth, but if you look around you puke.
It is a "head TRACKING" strictly related problem.
Fix this.
Link to a very short video.
Screen on right is companion screen for reference.
Screen on left VR view on Quest2 with link cable.

Exactly THAT.
Shame they are not fixing it
- @Randy911 Its the same like me. I have switch the Screenmode on Fullscreen (from windowed), after them the game was crashing and now it crashes instant after start in VR and i cant change it back. Nice EA. NICE.
- @TonaZ meanwhile I think they dont have test the game with different VR headsets. If they test it at all, they test it with the valve Index only?
They couldn't have tested with the Index because I have that and a monster computer and have tried every gimmick/setting combo there is. Unplayable.
but you have other hardware. They testet it with one setup. For them it works and they thought it works fine every where else.
- @nicka117 i don't think they tested it at all. or they did, but they didn't care about releasing an unplayable VR implementation.
@Silvercrow1983 Is the screen black and nothing happens or does the game close and give an error message?
I have the same issue and Randy's video shows it perfectly.
Performance is fine (plenty of headroom available too) during a race if I keep my head still but jitters when looking left or right. Also bad when in pits or grid start.
Quest 2 link cable, ryzen7 3700x, rtx3070
@brunomatelithe game doesn`t start. Only the steam VR enviroment is seeing in the headset. But i figured out what is the problem.
Its the resoulution in the game. If it is set on a high value (over 2560 x ... or somthing) the game quit and dont start. If I change the resolution back on 1280x720 in the settings config, the game starts normaly in VR. But the jittering and stuttering Problems are still there.Yep, the VR implementation is fundamentally broken. The head tracking is out of sync, making you nauseous, and the all the AA methods leave the far images blurry. All the tire smoke, on track big TV animations, etc are not rendered properly in VR. It looks kind of what it would look like if you piggybacked some hacky 3rd party 3d mod onto the 2D game...but more blurry. They aren't going to be able to fix the VR stuff with a little Patch tweak. There is no way a special "VR team" worked on the implementation for 9 months.
vr is total crap
