Maybe it was a late in the cycle shoehorn to cram EA stuff in. It might come again but this might be a year where they just try without and build the issues out of F1 24, then go Origin. Because it also seems that EA App has been in beta since before last year and still is. None of it seems particularly well-managed.

I just visited the webpage and it does appear that Origin "is closing it's doors". But I'm not holding my breath.

    @SteveJackson The crossplay fiasco blew up hard and honestly it was well deserved.

    Does launching the game on different store fronts add that much of an overhead for devs and support though?
    I'm under the impression that they're still a single game version (PC/Windows being the platform), and the store or launcher mainly a DRM check.

    I can easily see how cumbersome it can get when you've got a pesky layer acting up but, with the game code being the same, once the initial hurdle of getting the DRM systems up and running I didn't think it would add that much stress to the post-release pipeline.

    DRM was in the executable pre EA, honestly IDK what the current situation is because I don’t even turn that PC on to game any more. 

    Definite build differences because of how the matchmaking worked. 

    Relative paths would differ but if the game was asked to look in either / both locations for files then I suppose that might make it a non issue, but the amount of issues that differ between the two main storefront versions indicate that they are different or the issues would all be common. GamePass has also had issues separate to Steam at various points.

    Also not sure what weight it will carry.  But have suggested to my overlords to look at this thread as there are some beta testers on here I believe warrant a place.    And the game would be better for it.

    @ScarDuck14 Just be like every kid in a car on a long journey. Instead of “are we there yet” change it to “will it happen yet” 😂

    I wonder if they will do it at Guildford or have it as a home playtest?

    @Cpayne32 Not sure. But think as working from home is now a common thing. And from the play tests I’ve been offered I’m guessing it will be a home test.

    As I’ve mentioned on this thread previously that play testing isn’t really my thing. I may even pass it up. So I also asked if there is a possibility I could choose someone to take my place 😇

    If I just sign in to playtest like today, did I still have a chance to get a playtest or it’s to late ?
