So you play in a window or Borderless fullscreen? Yep. I used to call this the 'lost focus' bug, it's to do with the DWM / Overlays.

All the overlays I use work in Fullscreen exclusive - DX12 has a feature called Full-screen optimisation. Never been able to get a straight answer out of CM as to whether it's implemented correctly but

I run in fullscreen and the overlays work no issues, I tend to investigate those when they break. And yes, Steam and Discord have often had issues. Only other one I really use is Afterburner, even that hasn't been immune.

@xFranii  this is an interesting pattern that I never picked up on, but I want to say for me it is the opposite? FFB only ever doesn't work for me when racing in my tuesday night discord league. I always join the discord and THEN launch the game, and I never have FFB.... will have to test this thanks for pointing this out.

Exact opposite for me. I join Discord and Run Afterburner BEFORE starting the game. But I start Steam and then run F1 22. When the game hooks I get the Steam ALT SHIFT message, then after the Splash Afterburner hooks in and then I get the Discord Press SHIFT ' to toggle the overlay.

I never ALT-TAB without ALT-ENTER but as I can run the Discord and Steam overlays fine, I rarely need to. Also run ReLive (Radeon Settings) overlay too. Have it on Hotkeys so I don't even have to use the overlay though.

Plus, my wheel is a Thrustmaster and it was proper broke until it was fixed in 21.

I have a Logitech G920, what fixed it for me was;

1. Uninstall Logitech GHUB with RevoUninstaller
2. Verify game files
3. Reinstall Logitech GHUB

Before uninstalling, be sure to export your profile incase you have custom button mappings.

Just did some extensive testing. I can confirm my situation is the exact opposite as yours. I play in fullscreen mode, and my FFB DOES NOT WORK when I am IN A DISCORD VS.

If I exit the game, and exit the VC, FFB works. If I alt-tab out of the game and join a VC, FFB immediately stops working.
