@EA_KentThis is utterly ridiculous...

If you Havnt already.  Reduce Field off view.   By 10 and then fine tune to suit.

Not saying it’ll work but  I get much better rotation using negative than positive field off view.   Have no idea if POV is tied into game physics.  Frame rate was.

There’s plenty off videos on YouTube explaining why POV in racing games is crucial when cornering and getting it right massively helps improve lap times.

I use dual sense  400 max rotation  plus a extender stick and I still turn in to soon on occasions.  Immediate response

I recommend Marcel Keifers Camera settings if using Tv pod.  -10 POV + 20 height and -20 angle

Ok using very limited means off testing.    3 different dual sense pads.   a worn launch day pad.  One a year old and the new updated pad.

At Imola so plenty off high speed.   Using all three controllers on PS5.  I felt the delay instantly.  Very noticeable.  All I did to find this was change my current camera Tv pod settings back to default.   Then switched them back to my preferred settings and delay is gone.

The default POV setting is  wrong.   Cockpit. View is probably the closest to be right. For a average monitor and sim rig  seat setup.

But pov will depend on size off Tv or monitor and how far you sit from it.  The more precise you can make huts calculation the better.

As I said lplenty off videos on you tube explaining why POV in racing games is so important.

But Cockpit I reduce by 5 and Tv pod by 10 to start with.

I only play in VR, so FOV has no impact on the game at all for me personally. That said, I don't know how this issue would be tied to FOV anyway - but you might be right. All I know is that Codemasters must address this issue as it is massively hamerping the gameplay experience and giving all gamepad users a distinct disadvantage for no reason what so ever. F1 2020 did not have anywhere near as strong of a delay, so we know it's possible to disable or at the very least turn down considerably. @EA_Kent come on, this is unacceptable -  especially almost half a year since launch!

@CapPeanut It’s clearly a issue and a ongoing one in previous years that has never been addressed. As Codemasters Masters as far as I know have never even commented on it: So I can only Bly guess they think it works as it should.

But it is also one I genuinely don’t have at any speed on any corner. So wanted to see if I could find the reason. And ever since last year and discovery this POV witchcraft. I noticed I was faster over a lap and I rotated the car easier.

So did my little test and using default camera and FFB settings I instantly noticed how lazy and heavy when steering. I don’t have the skillset or the equipment to deep dive the issue. So I can say for certain what it is but hope my suggestions help some fellow pad users

@ScarDuck14 I appreciate your efforts and I too hope your findings may help others with the same issue. Unfortunately the issue still persist for myself.

You are also correct in stating that Codemasters don't see the issue, as they clearly programmed this "feature" intentionally into the game. What is utterly baffling though is why they did that. Presumably it was done to help newcomers to control the car using a gamepad without spinning around all the time - but this filter does precisely the opposite. It makes the game significantly harder to play, and I have no idea why they would think that purposefully delayed inputs would be anything other than incredibly frustrating.

Something needs to be done about this. Either remove the filter entirely as it is completely useless - or at the very least give us the option to disable it in the settings menu.

@CapPeanutYour totally right In the past on 2020 at Spa going through eu rouge in the wet the steering would massively stiffen up so I would over compensate and spin crash and die.

Other thing that makes it pointless. As I’d assume using the steering assist is on by default in casual mode. Never used it to know if works. But I tend to think it doesn’t

Also I used kontrol freak extender stick on my left stick.  They work really well making steering inputs smoother and precise.  I think the steering may activate when it detects sudden, sharp aggressive inputs
