Re: Regarding AI and the Difficulty

I mean this could be a workaround indeed, however I know why this time the AI are way worse compared to F1 2021. They pretty much had no data coming up with this game and training AI takes a lot of time. The game came out on 28 of June, at that moment in time, we've had 8 races so far in F1. If they would do this we would only have real times for this 8 tracks, so only 8 tracks where difficulty would be right. Supposing they train the AI before even the season start they pretty much just guessed the pace this new cars have around every circuit. Which means they just made simulations for the times for every circuit. This leads to big differences in difficulty for every track, because doing that removes the consistency. That or they just used F1 2021 AI times and increased their times to what engineers where talking at the beginning of the year (+2 seconds or something).

For me the best way would be using the E-sports guys. Example: Put Jarno or someone as fast as him make time trials in every circuit. Analyze the line they use, braking points and things like that and at the end use their lap times for 110 AI. For races, why not use every E-sports player for races? Like that they would have good data of how the AI should drive without making unrealistic dives and reckless driving. After races, look at race pace and all the data possible and that would be 110 AI. With all that, then they could decrease time by 0.2s till 101, and 0.1s from 100 and below. Maybe it is too much? Maybe. But would probably be much better than guessing times and simulate them.

I’ll add…. plenty off years developing engines has them at peak performance.  But in real F1 They still struggling to reduce weight and can’t even fully  solve porpoising which has been around for decades when using ground effect.   If hundreds off millions and best Engineers and aerodynamicists along with the worlds tip off the sword drivers haven’t found the meta.  And as the developers obviously draw on what is known about the handling physics on actual f1 cars.  They can’t if there is still limited information

@TomasSlb24 I think I know what you mean. If you say use the times of TRL Limitless, those can be seen as good benchmarks for Qualifying. He got a 1:16 something in Melbourne, so that would be the speed on level 110, and if you say drop it to my preferred level, which is 80, it would be 4 seconds slower, meaning the best car could hit a 1:20 something.

I don't know how much time is being cut by the DRS, Hotlap Mode, and low fuel, but I guess that's something that Codies would have to figure out on their own.

I’m a different cat than most. I drive with TC, automatic, and full brake assist. The AI in past games were all over the place but averaged around 80. I am using the suggested pre set set up this year, previous games I worked out the fastest set up.

This year the AI has been pretty solid at 60 for qualy and race everywhere except Singapore. The qualy AI was a bit too fast. Everywhere else it seems to work. In My Team the AI is a bit different than in GP mode, not sure why.

@ScarDuck14 Exactly, if F1 engineers, that need to be perfect and the best in their job, can't figure it out some aero and chassis problem in their cars, how can CM developers do? Maybe they should start an F1 team!

@AEF251  It’s along to do with r&d upgrades on cars and 2nd driver facilities that boost all ai.  Not to mention the ai driver ratings go down for old guys and up for youngsters.

Then im pretty sure game is scripted to check your progress.  As the biggest criticism off my team had been you can max out car and win both championships in 2nd or 3rd season in 2020 and also in 2021.  But from hundreds off careers. And knowing the quickest route to upgrading my car.  After the midway point off namely first season.  If your doing well by consistently performing better than your rankings suggest.  Every R&d upgrade will fail first time. Especially durability so you wear out parts and pick up penalties.  And  then if that doesn’t slow you down. The rain would come race after race but only at the worst possible time for us humans.  And then if your still pushing forward. The game activates  extreme rubber kamikaze bending.   And I’ve watched countless  replays from ai cockpit  cam.  I’ll be defending on the inside. Ai comes up on the outside and As soon as ai car was close enough for no apparent reason you would see the steering sharply rotate right and drive into you.   But it’s stupid because we also have flashbacks and other assists. So if the game cheated then so would I. Which killed any sense off enjoyment.

I found if you crashed out off a few races.   And also took new parts the game didn’t go bonkers mental.

But as I pointed out in a discussion with Codemasters.  That  I understand t99.9% off people only play through once or twice and wouldn’t pick up on it.  And I’m the only idiot that plays my team obsessively but  even so  for 80+ difficulty any game scripts and cheats shouldn’t be active as ai represents a challenge in its self.

Codemasters never acknowledged that game cheats, scripts were used in game.  As no developer admits to using them but they do and they know we know they do. Etc etc
