This year it’s clear there’s lots going on. And I remember pre launch Codies said what option you chose in department events will have a bigger effect that with be immediately apparent. I’m guessing this is what they were referring to. Adding more rage sorry excite mechanics.
Rival ai driver firstly gets a Buff for length of rivalry. But it’s stupid as it’s not like a 5% boost. It’s much worse Basically it seems its adaptive. Doesn’t matter what your pace is. Ai goes as fast on track as it needs, so it stays just infront or fast enough to constantly attack.
But also realised it’s the reason why all my R&D research that had a 15% failure chance: suddenly starts failing: part after part, it’s now dawned on me. It’s to nerf my cars performance. I’m thinking if all being equal between me and rivals team. Game will stop me from increasing performance: Otherwise you’ll easily notice your rival’s massive pace increase:
Explains a lot of things like why you have to restart session for drag reduction upgrades take effect. Restarting a session probably resets and restarts game from that session. Without rival rage mechanic.
Ok so from now on looks like I’ll have to turn off department events. As it looks to be another game feature that forces handicapping the player.
Can’t test this for a week or so.
Games used to be fun and exciting. But all excite mechanics do is enrage and hate
