Re: Supercars unnecessary and out of place

@gizt7The players didn't play with retro cars because there were broken. You can play them in time trial, but it's impossible to enjoy a race:
20 identic cars, only fake names, no retro tracks...
You want players play retro cars, introduce the whole entire cars, drivers and tracks of a season and will see a lot of people playing retro season, especially if you choose the seasons you introduce wisely.

Maybe, maybe not. But that was not the point of my post. The point was, in my opinion, dev teams will use actual data they get from the game to know, which features are used, and which aren't, instead of forum comments.

Most probably good and comprehensive implementation of classic cars, as you described, would increase usage of them. How much, I do not know. I have a feeling majority of the players are focusing on F1 and even F2 gets much less focus. But I'm just guessing here.

I'd play F2 more if it weren't even more bugged than F1....so don't expect the dev feedback to be representative. New features should always get weighted as people will always look.

Lies, damned lies, statistics. Stats aren't the whole truth. Next, it'll be touchy feely exit interview pop-ups.

"Hi there, it looks like you've been exploring our supercar feature. How did it make you feel?" *smiley face* *sad face*

  • I'm sure retro F1 are way more popular than F2. F2 is useless, maybe 10% of players base did 1 or 2 F2 race in career mode before F1 but since F2 is more difficult to drive and less interesting than F1, there is no reason to have it in game except Liberty want a F2 official game and no one want make an only F2 game than nobody will play.

And I suspect stats Codemasters use as argument to add or remove a feature are lies. Codies remove coop-career in the past or dual screen even it was popular. They remove private league even it's more popular than their broken useless public ranked league. In fact, they very often remove features to promote an other feature or because the former feature require to much work for staying to date.

In my opinion, if Codemasters add supercars in game, it's because it's a way to sell mirco-DLC for adding extra supercars and more paying cosmetics, box gambling and unnecessary season pass...

Possibly your partially right. In an interview with alex gillon, Lee Mather confirmed no additional supercars with be added post launch. But doesnt stop them adding additional cosmetic micro transactions etc…
