@Lurtz_Uruk-hai I see that and was surprised who said it. But I know the person. And know despite his tone. He had good intentions. As it’s a controversial issue. He was worried it would get out off control.
Problem Brits have. our banter is brutal. What we think is perfectly acceptable to say when having our say. Is seen as being offensive by everyone else.
When posting I try to keep in mind all nationalities and cultures post here. So check my natural instinct to make very Sarcastic comments and put downs.
Only have to watch you tube American reacts to British comedy to see how brutal we are

@ScarDuck14 You are right of course (Oh Lord......all I've done there is given you another chance to tell me how great you are, haven't I!!!).
I think, as you touched on, the most important thing is to realise that, for a lot of contributors, English is not their first language. English is characterized by subtle shades of meaning or expression and it is all too easy to misunderstand. Having said that, I am constantly amazed at the level of English displayed by non-English writers.....and the forum is much the richer for it.
As for my own 'off topic' comments, I think I'll just continue as I have for the past decade and wind up anyone who supports drivers and teams that I don't....especially if they are doing better than Sir Lewis....and doubly especially if they are caught cheating to do it.

I wouldn't peg it entirely on being an issue with not being fine tuned to the nuances of the English language though. Like Duck said, it's more likely due to social differences aggravated by the occasional difficulty bridging meaning and nuance across languages.
Just imagine being a particular grumpy and curt person. Now try acting as such on your second language. Haha you'll probably walk a thin line between foolishness and overboard crudenessAnyway I'm positive the community stands to gain a lot with you being able to look over the incident and sticking with us! I miss the spirit and the communion we had 💟
