Re: When will the Soundbug be fixed?

Well, whether you like it or not, the change to the handling model had nothing to do with players. It was noted as not functional BEFORE the game launched, after the professionals, and actual F1 drivers, noted the issues. As to the sound bug you mention, I've not encountered a single sound bug of any kind on PC, which is why I asked what the bug was, and on what platform. The only part of the game I haven't played is online, so if it only occurs there, it would explain why I've not noticed it.

Hi cutter4400,

By the word  "professionals", do you mean the esports players? If so, I very rarely see real drivers imitating their kerb riding skills, its so unrealistic. I wish the franchise would cease that excessive kerb riding. Its laughable when they whine about realism. The kerb riding, added with the fact than none of them uses cockpit view is just that, laughable.

No. By professionals I mean the people who literally design, build, and test F1 cars as a career. When they say the cars do not handle properly, I trust them. I certainly trust them more than I trust someone who plays a video game. If I'd meant Esports people, I would have said as much, though I'm no more likely to take their word for anything as I would a random forum dweller. We can only tell how the cars this year handle differently than last year. We cannot ever know how they handle compare to the REAL thing. As for the original point of this thread, I did finally see for myself just how broken it is, and I sincerely hope the next patch contains slightly more than one fix as with the most recent one. It's baffling how they have managed to break some of the most simple things this time around.

I wouldn't be foolish enough to ever expect realistic handling in a video game. A game can only do so much. If you take Gran Turismo, rewind back to 1997, the handling of the cars have changed  a lot over this past 25 years but yet in 1997 forum users and sim racers touted the handling as uber-realistic.

If it was so realistic back then why is it so much different today? Back in 97 it was hailed as the real driving simulator and still is in present day.

My point being, in another 25 years time (2047) we will be saying the same thing about GT7 as we said about GT1 in 1997.

Handling is only as good as the developers understanding of real car physics. Lando Norris can explain to developers what the handling should feel like. Lando is not a game developer and is probably limited in knowledge when it comes to coding software. Likewise the game developer has limited knowledge in driving a real F1 car.

As time goes on, tech and software coding will try to 100% factually simulate its real life counterpart but the simple 100% fact is it will fail and be unsuccessful, why? Because one is reality, the other is artificial.

To be honest, I think people get let down by their own high expectations.

In the future looking back at F1 22 will probably be like looking at F1 97 on the PS1 now.

One very good point you touched on was not passing any remarks on forum dwellers. Exactly. I couldn't agree more. I take the entirety of the Internet with a pinch of salt and a megaload of suspicion. Same is true in the physical plains.
