[Request] My Team Mode Round 1 Voicelines

Dear devs,

if you're reading this, I already started a My Team Career. However, it lacks a crucial thing that F1 2020 had, which is a unique voiceline sequence in Round 1 of the Career.

If you are going to create something like that for a future update, here's what I came up with for the English language:

  • "Can Mercedes start their push for their ninth consecutive Double World Championship with a race win? Or can Ferrari and Red Bull gain an early advantage? And how quick can the new team gain a good spot among the 22 cars in the field? There's a lot to discuss, Anthony, and it's great to be here again."
  • "Indeed, it's been a long winter, and it's nice to be back. I think we will see the usual suspects fight for the lead, but like every start to a season, there are the one and the other starting problems, and whoever can manage them best, will have the edge here today."
  • "Now, I have briefly touched on the topic that we have 11 teams this season, and the new team has - believe it or not - an owner, who also is a driver. An owner/driver in one person has not been in the sport since Héctor Rebaque, and that was more than 40 years back. So how's the new team doing so far?"

And dependent on if one of your cars managed to get into Q2, Anthony would say one of those things:

  • Q2: "Well, it's hard to believe that such a small organisation can survive in the merciless world of Formula 1. Yet still they're here, ready for their first race, and they look surprisingly strong! However, there are no points to get in Qualifying, so let's see how they will do in the Grand Prix itself."
  • No Q2: "They still have to get their head in the game and find some more sponsors, but once they did, we can expect them to start pushing for a point or two in the future. But let's see what this new team is capable of in the race."

It would be really cool, as this is what makes My Team so unique and interesting. I always loved the sequence when I started the first race in F1 2020 My Team back in the day.

And by the way, may I remind you that the commentator still says that it's 2021 in Driver Career? So is Verstappen a "champion" or what? Please correct that if you can.

- Nico

  • Ha, really glad someone thinks just like me. This is the one (seems to be minor but actually isn't) thing that immediately ruined my impression of F1 2021 and now 22.

Having a new team in F1, let alone one with a owner driver, should be the dead center of attention for that season and something that the commentator will absolutely not miss for a single opportunity to mention.

Now it's just like we don't even exist, they should've at least just reuse the voicelines from F1 2020 and I'll be completely fine with it.

    🤣🤣🤣🤣

seriously though, I don’t really think EA/ codies care to much about career mode. It could be so much more, but basically unchanged in two years now. If its anything like FIFA it’s not going to move forward too much.

@LuckyNico92 how you finding it over on EA answers? Good to see you

@ajobling1983 The worst thing about this is that it's not even an improvement, it was an existed feature that probably gets forgotten by the dev LOL

Minimal viable content.  If its outdated but can still pass as ok and it’s free.  It will remain.   Devs probably don’t even get excited when coming update with ideas and bouncing them off eachother. Cause when they mention it to the board,  they Say nope it sounds expensive:  just keep what’s already in game.  Devs probably get the same response every year. Now they don’t even bother.  When online gaming started becoming big.  Must have been awesome time if you was a actual developer.  Whole new world and even EA were releasing awesome games during the ps3/Xbox era.  Didn’t have to build a game where shoehorning monetisation was the priority:   Activision and EA led the way, what’s the saying   power always corrupts

@ajobling1983 Doing good here. It's a cool community around here, and we all share different experiences about the game, which is neat.

Nice to see you too, by the way.
