@dwin20 try this. For me the revs suggested in the video are too high, pre 1.07 I would keep them around 11k but now I struggle with anything above 9k. Have yet to nail race starts (also no assists), and usually lose 1-3 places off the line using the shifting strategy in the video (at lower revs), and make them back in the first few corners. Would be nice if I could hold position into the first corner!
Good luck 🖖🏽
@Monzstar83 Thanks - this was very helpful. I have used this site for setups - but had missed this video. The one thing I need to work through was this was the TV view and not the cockpit view - and so he had graphics on showing the actual RPM as opposed to what is available in cockpit view. Nonetheless there was a lot of really good info that I want to try out - thanks again.

@dwin20I also use cockpit view and usually keep throttle somewhere between the M and P of MPH above. If I figure out how to nail starts will let you know. Will also be interested to hear your experiences.

@Monzstar83 Still having huge problems. I am racing at a low AI level - so winning pole by wide margins - and generally pass a slew of cars during the race - but if at the start if I try and focus on doing just one start for a race I lose still more like 8-10 positions. If I do maybe 10 starts - I can get a start that I only lose to 5-6 places. It seems with my accelerator pedal that either I am at a low level or maxed out. I have no idea the revs I am at as it us not on the screen in the cockpit view. There is nothing under my MPH on the wheel. Additionally, in the first corner seem like I have no grip and usually a get a couple of more cars pass me.
Since you replied to me last I have probably done a hundred or more starts - always from pole - and my best result has been to get through the first corner in fourth place (twice).
Help!!
- ajobling19834 years agoRising Ace@dwin20 I was struggling really bad too, but this video helped. I found that you just can’t go above 9 k revs to get a good start. Its really critical you can see the actual revs in rumbers or you will never have any consistency. If you can’t see it in cockpit cam, could you turn the hud on for starts.
