There's certainly a big change in the handling and feel of the cars this year. I don't want to say they're impossible to drive with a controller just yet, but it will take some time getting used to the differences in handling between 21 and 22. However in my limited experience this morning yes, the cars feel heavier and a bit less responsive with steering input, but at the same time in a high speed sweeping turn the back end is light as a feather and around you go in no time. They certainly don't feel like F1 cars to me. Maybe I just haven't gotten used to feathering the throttle and steering yet and I'm still driving like F1 21, but i think if people thought the cars and curbs were slippery in 21, they certainly won't like the handling in 22. I've go to play with settings still but I copied over my controller settings from 21 and put them into 22 this morning so I'm driving the same settings as last year and certainly the cars feel different which isn't a bad thing necessarily.
I don't think you're experiencing a lack of controller response though, I think you're just experiencing the difference in the weight and handling of the new cars/handling mode in the game and they designed it this way. I remember reading/listening to the early hype videos talking about this, and the new heavy feeling to the cars with steering etc. I dont know; I've never driven an F1 car obviously, but the heaviness sure doesn't feel like it's replicating the cars we watch on Sundays. I just don't think it's a controller issue but it's just the new handling system that we have to get used to.
All I know is I didn't get the feeling I was driving an F1 car, it felt more like I was driving a car that was heavy; didn't want to steer, and had almost no grip under power at low, or high speed. I'm sure I have adjustments to make in my driving style now for the new game, but I can't help but wonder how this is a step in the right direction. Too early to make any final comments/complaints though for me; just saying what I felt in limited time this morning. So for those ready to pounce on this as crying/whining or a complaint... calm down. That's not my point here; just stating what I felt in early drives.

There's alot here that's changed in the game with respect to handling. Greco comes in around the 3:30 mark to talk about the changes. Again; I'm not sure it's a controller issue but it's the new car handling model that's been created that you're experiencing
@petro1319I think maybe you didn't understand what I said. I said this feeling was already there in F1 2021, you know, last generation cars. And it wasn't there in F1 2020, where the cars weren't all that different from 2021.
I'm specifically talking about when the wheel is straight and you want to move it, even if just slightly. It almost feels like there's a delay but it's not, it's super STUCK and for this reason it feels super heavy. Like I said in the main post, it's like there is a huge dead zone and I can't do anything about it. It's not a problem of the "new" handling physics.
