The Death of the Soft, Medium, Medium Strategy?

I know that the number of tyres available to teams on a given weekend has been reduced IRL this year, and that this is being replicated within the game. However it's a little frustrating that either ...

@BewareTheHare The simple problem is that the tires you use in practice and that will be taken away from you before qualifying are locked. You cant do anything against it and its by design. A flawed design that was never like that IRL but Codemasters probably found it easier - more beginner friendly i guess.. There is no other solution than just lift that lock and give us free choice over tires we use in practice which will then determine which tires we got left for qualifying and race. For a online race without practice simply leave all tires or let the player choose "which to discard"

    I find it absurd that you can't use 2 hards in a race. But when I pointed that out in Codemasters forum last year I got a "LOL why would you want to use 2 hards, the hard tyre is not performant" so I guess we'll have to live with it

      @goodhand12 Hards is one thing. Not being able to use two sets of mediums is a major oversight on Codemasters behalf. They should come up with a solution for this, it will really ruin the fun of different strategies.

        @zed08je0ot2v Two sets of hards would be used fairly often if track temps etc. would be a thing.. The solution is really easy, lifting the lock on tires for practice, literally all they need to do😂

    @Meza994 Yeah agreed - although I don't think this was as big an issue last year when there was an additional Medium set within your quali set, which gave you a decent level of variations in strategy at a 2 stop race. Ideally as you say, Codies would lift the lock and allow you to pick which tyres to take forward

        Just like IN REAL LIFE, i want to be able to choose MY OWN tyre usage with returning the most worn sets, keeping for example a used medium for tactical use, and not at the end of a session tyres bluntly TAKEN AWAY from me. 

        if i don’t use the hard tyre in FP1, i want to be able to use it later on! This is just emberassing that it’s still a factor in AN OFFICIAL LICENSED TITLE! 

        IMPLEMENT THE DAMN RULES RIGHT!
