Yes, they agree, but as they say they want the game to be as close to reality as possible, the rule of one should be taken seriously, especially in a game at this price.

so according to the rules they need to return tyres after each session, the last paragraph contains rules about test tyres during a weekend so not important.
the rules state that 2 sets must be returned but WHAT compound is NOT defined. So the whole tyre rules must be adjusted in game.
else it’s not so official if you can’y even implement something simple as tyre rules.
- Meza9944 years agoSeasoned Ace@JasVerstoppen038 As i always said.. Just lift the lock on tires you can use during practice and the game will only take the 2 most worn tires or you choose when its been a wet session..

Perfect, it's simple for them to solve, but being honest I believe it will be the way it is now.
- 4 years ago@Meza994 Nope. What if you use 3 sets or 4 sets in fp1? We simply should be able to choose the sets to return. Just like in real life
- Meza9944 years agoSeasoned Ace@JasVerstoppen038 Most worn sets, its how it was in 2021 and before at least.. Obviously best way would be we choose the tires but that would be an extra step and i would want that thing corrected this game not just in F1 23 or 24

I know this is a relatively old thread but as a usually 50% distance racer, this particular issue has been driving me nuts, and I didn't realise until reading this that it was by design rather than a bug. We've been screaming ourselves blue in the face on the bugs forum trying to get it fixed.
By doing things this way, it's - for me - killed any reason to drive more than 25% distance. What's the point? There's just no strategy for me or the AI anymore. It's just medium to hard every race. I haven't seen them use the softs at all since the first patch came out (I swear there was more variation then for some reason).
I completely agree with the notion that the "lock" on the tyres should be totally removed and we and the AI should be able to choose freely from the entire load of tyres sets, used or unused, until a closer following of the rules can be attained. To achieve that would probably take Codies an entire game cycle.
@EA_Kent @EA_rephii Would "removing the lock" on the tyre allocation to allow free choice be something that you guys would consider?
