I thought the same, So decided to watch the winner Max in a 25% race and for 7 laps after his pit stop he saved his battery for the last lap and a half and boy did he use it. set the fastest lap on 11 lap old mediums. Whereas me as Lando on the same strategy set my fastest on lap 3 with my softs on. And Max never seemed to lose any of his 4/5 second lead while he was saving his ERS
- 4 years ago@DRudd13 Yes I understand they can save battery and use it for the last two laps but at the end of the GP, the tires are used (arround 35-45 %) with the ERS you gain in the straights but I think it is not sufficent to be 1sec faster .... Anyway, EA has a lot of work to balance the AI with the 22 version.
- DRudd134 years agoSeasoned Ace@Juju_59320 Couldn't agree more about the AI. I know f1laps is not official, but it's been a good guide over the last couple of years. I've just set an average time of 5 laps at Japan and got 1.31.560 which according to f1 laps is level 90. Around where I finished last year's game on. At the minute, just doing Grand Prix mode with Lando on 75. So went into the race thinking I could win. Qualified 9th behind big 6 and alpine. Finished 7th above the alpine's but 8 seconds behind Russel and 18 behind Max his best lap was the last lap 1.33.857 on 7 lap old mediums. my best lap was 1.35.624 set on 3 lap old soft's at the start. Something is wrong, Just can't work out exactly what it is.

This is a big problem since years. And the most annoying is the AI difficulty changes on each track.
