Things that need fixing
Hi guys, as well as @EA_rephii,
I need you guys to listen to me right now. These past races I played were nothing short of a torture. The Sprint Race in Brazil was awful, the Feature Race in Brazil went awful, and now practice in Abu Dhabi goes awful.
Seriously, F1 22 has probably more problems than 2021, and I'm not even joking, and these things definitely need fixing that I list up here:
- UNDO THE 1.06 PATCH. The tires overheat way too quickly on several tracks ever since that patch came out, and it's rendering the cars undrivable, whereas the AI seem to have zero problems whatsoever.
- Speaking of the AI, they still are way too fast. They accelerate faster than a car that has a rocket attached to its rear end, making tracks like Brazil and Abu Dhabi, which are technical high speed tracks, a pure nightmare. I just cannot catch them with the best car in the game, and honestly, I am tired of switching the AI back and forth just because you guys are unable to create fair, realistic AI. I'm sorry, this feels like an F1 version of Need for Speed Undercover, and that game had an INSANE amount of rubber banding.
- Unfortunately, this also affects the target times in practice. Apparently, you reworked the difficulty of practice, but honestly, I don't see any of this in Abu Dhabi. 4th fastest car, I'm 1.7 seconds behind the green target in Qualifying Pace, and I can just barely match the green target in Race Strategy.
- The effects of front wing damage are far too powerful. I understand you not being able to turn correctly if you lost the entire front wing, but just scratching the wing instantly means you have to come in for a new wing, which makes ZERO SENSE, considering that Charles Leclerc was the fastest guy in Silverstone, even though he had an entire end plate missing.
Listen to me, EA. Do you want to know why F1 2020 was such a huge success? Because Codemasters worked their magic, improving further on F1 2019's successful formula, and created by far the best F1 game out there. They don't care about making money like you do, they care about the community, they want them to enjoy the game to the best they can, and that's basically what F1 2020 was, an enjoyable experience for Experts and Beginners of F1 games alike. No overpowered AI, the cars were great to drive, and basically every single season of Career Mode, whether My Team or Driver Career, was just pure joy.
And believe me, when F1 22 first came out, I loved it despite its initial flaws like those nifty game crashes, and I thought that finally Codemasters created a far better game than F1 2021. But ever since Patch 1.06 came out, you basically said to Codemasters: "Guys, F1 2021 was so successful, it brought in so much money, please make the game just like that." And this is what it's become, and I'm so disappointed that it's become like this. A buggy mess with overpowered AI, undrivable cars and practice programs that aren't beatable most of the time. Just like F1 2021 was, if not worse.
I love F1 games, but I still criticize them the most. I enjoy playing it, but I also criticize it if something isn't right. So if I was a bit too extreme with my thoughts, I apologize. But seriously, F1 22 needs a full-fledged rework, regardless of how long it takes to make, the game should work properly and be enjoyable, and right now, it's neither of those things.
Thank you for your understanding.
- Nico
