Very frustrating
Out of interest why would FOM veto this being used in career/my team?
I don’t know if I’m being stupid but I really don’t see the difference between doing a GP at Portimao vs having it in a career mode. Even if you just couldn’t use it for the first season and had to follow the 22 calendar I’d understand.
think it’s also pretty disappointing you can’t change between sprint weekends in career.
Would be gutted if they added Turkey and Hockenheim as rumoured and they’re not available for career.
Sports games are always beholden to the license holder. Sometimes they make stupid decisions.
I would love to play this track in MyTeam. I would replace monaco in an instant with it!
We are all speculating of course, but I don't see why CM would intentionally leave it off of mycareer/myteam mode without being told to do so. It's incredibly frustrating.
Yes, on one Hand I am disappointed due to the Lack of myteam usage but on the other Hand very happy to have another great track to race. So mixed Feelings about that, but all in all we get another track, so I am happy (will only use grand prix Mode though).
If a clever Person figures out, where the calender data is stored and provides a possibility to adapt it to ones Taste, even better for myteam Mode.

Another feature added that should have been great but they've found a way to ruin it? Wonderful.
I kind of see why it's not in career mode because of the way it works and races are assigned dates and obviously, Portimao doesn't have one this year. But there's ways they could have done it.
Firstly, there's the weekend that would have been used for Sochi that's now free so Portimao could have been assigned to that weekend. Secondly, when choosing tracks (like we have to when doing 16 or 10 race seasons), if we deselect for example, Monaco, then the next track we add, whether it be Portimao or later on, China then that race would happen when Monaco otherwise would have.
Thirdly, rather than assigning, for example again, Monaco to 27-29 May, it could just be "Race 7" regardless of track, happens on that weekend. That would also open up being able to change the order of the races..
Obviously, for season one it should be the official season. But season 2 onwards. It's just frustrating at this point when there's solutions there for most of the issues we have with the game but they just won't implement them and leave the problems in the game. (Like how a stat editor would fix our issues with driver stats, personnel boosts, team performance etc. but they still won't include one)
EA stopped making the boxing game (which was a ea game that noticeably get better each year:I never bought the last one but had all the ones before) simply because boxers like mayweather were demanding millions. When ea did the numbers there wasn’t much left over for them. So gotta give them credit. Rather than be held to ransom they just said ok you don’t get anything now cause we just won’t make the game
So can’t even swap it in season two? Which actual f1 hasn’t even got a finalised roster for next season. And last year with china think most players swapped it in for Monaco (yes yes I know some off you like it and manage not to hit every barrier) So I would imagine the same would be true if we had to option to put Portugal MY FAVOURITE TRACK.CODIES.:. DOING IT ON PURPOSE CAUSE THDY KNOW I ONLY PLAY MYTEAM:. I’m not joking they hate me 😂:… And as those at F1 want to cancel Monaco as it is. Youd think they would push for Portugal as a track option in career.
Basically reason China could be swapped in was because it already had a actual race date before it got cancelled.
Problem now is Portugal hasn’t and if you swapped it in for Monaco it would be held on actual Monaco race weekend although is has passed.
Solution is simply codies find a weekend that free and stick it there

Yes it would be good to be able to use Portimao in career mode but it's still a nice free addition to the game even without. Plus not everyone even plays career modes.
So new update coming tomorrow and the known issues thread and what’s being investigated and what’s been fixed and awaiting a patch. Hasn’t been updated in a week: Efforts to engage with and keep community informed has clearly been a 5 minute wonder
