Track temperatures

Pleeease Codemasters?😂

Not mentioning that the temperatures ingame range from about 25-35° for every weekend and maybe 20° if its raining (yes im exaggerating) instead of 15-60 like we have in real life.. But the track temperatures change the grip the track gives as well as the tyre temperatures which would give much more dynamic to the career modes when we have season one a (miami)race at 55° with very low grip and then season two very overcast and only 20° with a lot of grip and perfect tyre temps.

This would help immersion, realism and replayability soo much.

  • Massively agree that track temps need to be a LOT more dynamic and have an actual, physical effect on the car and tyres.

I'd love to be part of a freak race of +55c, causing all the strategies to go out the window lol

@BankaiBullett Not only strategy but also air temps playing with your engine and gearbox temperatures, forcing you to go with more cooling/vents causing less downforce or avoid any slipstream to cool the car.. AI could be trained to go out of the slipstream when further away than 0.5s (so no overtaking opportunity) to cool the car when air temps are above ~45° and potentially a 3 stepped way to utilize setup changes for cooling (thats a bit more complicated)

But it would be fairly doable to get both track and air temps to actually matter in a good way and add a casual mode for people not interested in it

@Meza994 I do admire your contributions and would vote for you as game director…. As your ideas go down the route i would like to take.
But EA / codies want to keeps things closer to the arcade side of things, as it suits their target market. Its a shame because this game could be so much more.

@ajobling1983 I absolutely agree/know that it will likely not happen. But in the perfect universe we could just have both, simplified settings just as with the tyre temps. Give us the option of simulation (just as we want it to be like real life) and casual mode (as it is now).. But yeah i dont see it happen either haha

It'd be interesting to see how hotter track/air temps... and the relevant cooling requirements... would be handled online.

Could REALLY throw a spanner into the works for league racing if done right.

@BankaiBullett Yup.. for online it would be super easy to implement.. Well not super easy but if it works as it should very easy..

Most would try to go with minimum cooling and therefore no downforce loss but in turn they need to seek every bit of clean air they can, even sometimes lift a bit early, short shift even in higher gears.. But some might go with more cooling, have slower pace but not forced to hold back, can keep in the slipstream all day, so tracks with a lot of straights and slipstream would suit that approach more.. For online it would be truly interesting
