Traction Control

Ok, I have been struggling quit a bit with corner exit with no TC, however, just as I was about to toss in the towel on F12022 I thought I will go on another deep dive into any and every video I could find on driving without TC and I found a gold nugget which is helping me master this game.

Apart from setup and driving style the video suggested I go into my wheel controller and adjust the sensitivity and dead zone of the throttle input.

I had adjusted previously to have my throttle as sensitive as possible so my throttle was at full beans at 25% input, which gave me little room to modulate the throttle. I would come out of a tight corner and put my foot down and around I went.

I an still playing around with these inputs but now with the throttle a lot less sensitive I am able to bleed on the power more slowly then as soon as the car is straight a can put my foot down

I now have half a chance to get some narrative going with this game.

The only thing at the back of my mind now is if the throttle is wound back to much am I actually getting full throttle, the in game throttle does max out so I am assuming all is good at this point

Hope this helps someone as much as it helped me.

Cheers

If if you can see it reaches the maximum in the controller test section and/or on-screen when racing then you're fine.

For context are you playing on a controller or wheel? I'm curious why you'd previously chosen to adjust your throttle response to be as sensitive as you had but the change you made certainly sounds more sensible to me 🙂.

If your using a pad increasing max steering rotation will also help.   Doesn’t have to be much all depends on your style.  Try  increasing by 20 degrees at a time.

I was using Full TC so it was easy to floor the throttle any time you like, but what I realized in this game Full TC is VERY SLOW so now I am learning no TC.
This 2022 edition is a beast to tame, but making slow progress

I have a G27 Logitech wheel, it's been a faithful and reliable companion over all these years

I am due for an upgrade now and would love a Logitech Direct Drive wheel, but I think I will put a deposit on a house instead........Hahahahah!!!!!
