Trigger Vibrations still not working properly in new 1.07 patch

Well they fixed the trigger vibration on the xBox Series X controller for PC in the new 1.07 patch, but you can feel almost nothing. In F1 2021 I was able to feel how fast I could go on the throttle and when to get of the brakes before locking up. Now I can feel something but the vibrations are still to weak to make a difference. I don't know what Codemaster is doing, but the game has barely improved since it's launch. At least for controller players like myself. Please make the trigger vibrations on the xBox controller noticeable. I honestly don't understand how it can be so difficult to copy an already existing feature.

I don't feel it at all with my series x controller. I'm going to mess around with it a bit to see if it can get going somehow.

@Nylink So sorry to bump my own post, but someone came up with a "solution" in the bug thread. You have to enable/disable steam controller support for it to work. In my case I already had it disabled so I had to enable it, and with the other people they had to disable steam support for it to work.

Maybe the game just needs to recognize the controller again, not sure how it really works tbh.

WORKAROUND FOR PC: Disabling vibration in the Xbox Accessories app is the way to go.  For some reason, it hadn't saved my profile the first time I tried, but I did it again and now vibration is disabled for the controller across all games (which I'm fine with), including F1.

They also made it impossible to disable vibration on the Xbox controller.  I've tried every combination of enabling/disabling vibration, turning the vibration magnitude down to 0, re-applying my controller preset in-game, and disabling vibration in the Xbox Accessories app.  Nothing works.

I'm really patient as far as dealing with issues in games, but this is getting ridiculous.

Update: Per the suggestion just above, I found the rumble setting in the Steam Controller menus and disabled it.  Hopefully I can still configure the rest of the controller settings in-game if needed?

    What a mess.

Update 2: NOPE, just alt-tabbing out of the game to post that first update broke it again.  I can't play this game until I can turn off controller vibration.  Wtf is going on at Codemasters?

  • i had it turned off, but when I turn it on I don't have any trigger vibration whatsoever.

  • @Halawlo39 Yeah it's still terrible and useless on both Origin & Steam, decided to download the trial on Xbox and the trigger vibration is noticeable on there...
  • With the new patch, at least the triggers do vibrate. (Xbox Elite 2 Controller on PC) However, the feedback is way to weak and not at all useful.

Can you guys please just copy and paste it from F1 2021? It was working fine, I have no idea why it would take you multiple patches to sort this out.

  • I think what is going on is that we’re only getting FB on our front tyres and none in the rear ones. That’s why it feels so ‘light’. Go back to last years game and you can feel the rear tyres but on this one you can’t which is why there is so much wheel spin and lack of traction.

  • Personally, not sure what is going on with the vibration overall.

As I'm playing on Xbox One controller (older generation, since it still works and I have no reason to change the pad just yet) I had no vibration after patch 1.05 I think, so in the game settings I played with Trigger Feedback and set it to Auto - not only it gave me vibration, but it also gave me a proper road force feedback. It was actually nice to feel the road through my gamepad and how the car reacts; however trigger feedback was not working properly.

Fast forward to patch 1.07 - triggers are now working, but I lost road feedback. Back to the usual throttle/traction feedback. And not only that - for some reason I felt uncomfortable and potentially slower.

Can we finally get Road FFB on gamepads,, please? (I know, different topic than OP, but similar situation where vibration does not feel very good)
