Truly A Shame

Hi everyone,

Bit of disappointing one today…

Just had a look at Ben and Alex (Tiametmarduk and Alex Gillon)’s Co-Op career mode race at Miami today.

A number of very poor things regarding the F1 game were made.

1. The race weekend was absolutely FULL to the brim of bugs. It was genuinely a TOTAL joke. I won’t spoil it in case any of you watch that series and haven’t seen the Miami GP yet.

2. They both spoke about how terrible the game was for a solid 10mins. Ben mentioned he was contemplating making a video on how awful the game is at the moment. In general, they both spoke in great length about their disappointment and frustration towards the game.
3. They both mentioned how frustrating it was to see the game taking, what they thought, were big steps back in every update. More and more glitches being introduced, and little to nothing being done about them.

4. Both Alex and Ben’s chats were in total agreement with what the two were saying. So it’s clear that it’s not just the content creators who are fed up with the game. The game has turned into a total laughing stock. It’s such a shame.

When content creators like these two are vocally voicing their negative opinions like this about a game to a big fan base, it’s not something good for the franchise. And it’s not just these two.

On a more positive note, hopefully a ‘fresh start’ for F1 23 can bring some new life to the game. However, many people are not optimistic at this stage.

Sorry for the less positive thread today, but I feel it’s something that needs to be addressed.

It’s not me who needs to keep up.
I’m talking about a stream that happened yesterday, not 5 months ago or whatever.

What I spoke about isn’t something that has been extensively spoken about. If you want to read something that’s been extensively spoken about, just check out the threads about cheaters in the F1 game (something that’s been talked about for years, and especially for over a month now) which is something you made a thread about. So... 🫤

If anything, with F1 23 now just around the corner, the topic my thread poses is more relevant than ever.
Ben and Alex were discussing the possibilities of telling people to not buy F1 23 if it’s a shambles as it was in 22.
And, with a new game around the corner, with content creators and chats constantly expressing their unanimous frustration for the game, this topic is perfectly suited for right now.

  • Your just saying something everyone has known since the game was launched.  Alll content creators have criticised this game except when they had early access and were giving big shout outs to EA

The entire community has been saying this since day one.

I appreciate you are new to the game but you need to keep up. No point posting something that is common knowledge as though it’s some shocking new news

and that video was over 3 months ago.  Hardly current

and the issue they are taking about has been fixed for a couple off months

I apologise. I hold my hands up  last video at Miami they spoke about tyre Dsq.  so I wrongly thought that was what you was talking about and I did check his channel and that was the last Miami video he posted with Alex.

Yes and the E-Sports issue is current.  That is what I was referring to in the video as it affects the cheating issue as a whole.

All good! 😇 We all make mistakes some times.

As I said, Ben and Alex talked about this on stream yesterday, on Twitch/Facebook gaming, not on YouTube. So I totally understand why you might not have seen it.

I don't know to what extent if any the likes of Ben and Alex are in direct contact with the game devs already but examples like this really make me think it's rather less than would be in everyone's interest. They really will have pretty good insight given how much they play the games, as well as obviously doing a lot to help promote the game.

Well, Tiametmarduk recently said that he’d heard of some of the new things for F1 23. This would very much suggest that he (and the other content creators) have had some sort of direct contact with the developers and co.

So it’s slightly concerning that even once they’ve heard about these new things, Ben is still saying he’s not that excited for this year’s game.

'Hearing' things is still after the fact, whereas I was referring to more information going the other way to be fed into future plans/fixes. Although I would of course hope and expect that some of the devs watch at least some of the content Ben puts out.

My guess is that what Ben has heard is that there won't be any significant changes to career mode, since that's really what he'd want to see for the content he likes to make.

I hope so too. Content creators like aarava, Tiametmarduk and Alex Gillon all have really good ideas, and discuss important issues and topics around the F1 games.

And yeah, I wouldn’t be surprised if you’re correct about what Ben might have heard from the devs. It would be so disappointing though, if for a third year in a row, nothing new comes to career mode. It’s a content creator killer.

  • nothing will change in 23 as they still make the game for ps4 so they have to limit it. for me it's only a convenient excuse to do so as they only have the official license. a game that must also cover the pad will never be simulative again. let's hope liberty media will soon release the license to some other software house as well
