two player career- stuck on the workstation after completing the weekend

The problem- unable to continue our career, as we are stuck on the race weekend even after completing the race. 

How did the problem occur? -we had to start the race fron the beginning as my playstation shut down. After getting back into the game. It first bugged and threw me to a one shot qualifying screen, while the other half of the career was alone in the race. So we restarted again. Finally getting the game working. Besides the minor inconvenience of the starting grid getting mixed completely and us having to start from the back. Despise that we finished the race. However after finishing it. We were sent back to the race weekend and it's workstation. Where I could click " continue to next session, which for me seems to be one-shot qualifying. While the host of the career couldn't click anything. so we are stuck there.

Is there a possible fix for this, for us to continue our career, that's soon on a 3rd season, and exit the weekend, Or do we have to create a new one?
