Unable to adjust resolution in SteamVR

Summarize your bug SteamVR - Unable to adjust resolution using HP Reverb G2 Headset. I want to lower resolution to improve framerate but I am unable as the game simply overrides the resolution set in SteamVR.
Which area is the bug/glitch in? Multiplayer
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? If you go into Video Settings in SteamVR and DECREASE resolution below 50% then return to the game you see it makes no difference to resolution in VR option under settings.
What happens when the bug occurs? I can not play multiplayer without massive frame drops so hence want to reduce resolution. In single player I can avoid frame drops by adjusting settings to low but should have option to reduce resolution so can increase settings OR have fluid frames in Multiplayer
What do you expect to see? My setup is i9 32Gb 2080Super HP Reverb G2. Most Steam games allow resolution adjustment in SteamVR.

    Have the same issue and unable to reduce resolution bellow 2200x2100 on HP Reverb G2...  

    Performance is really bad even on low settings and together with that resolution the game is unplayable at the current state..

    You have to restart the game after changing SteamVR resolution, this is true of most VR games if not all.

    Also note that there is a graphics settings in the game to ”override SteamVR resolution” so obviously if that is enabled then changing it in SteamVR won't work.

    I also have a Reverb G2 and changing SteamVR resolution does work for me after restart. I don't use the override option because it's unusual and I don't trust it.
