With it being such a contentious end to the F1 2021 championship IRL, it's clear this is a feature that is sorely in need of being added.
Now the rule should indeed be enforced correctly, it's going to be a glaring omission if it is omitted.
Not sure if the gameplay videos we've already seen have covered it?

- @duelcoot From the brief sc footage I’ve seen it appears not and that was the immersive option
I've seen at least one gameplay video with a safety car but I recall no mention of cars unlapping themselves. There may have been none to unlap of course. Personally I'll be surprised if we find this is in the game.
From a game perspective it's not the same issue as it is in real life if lapped cars are ghosted.
