It looks to me like this video shows backmarkers being overtaken after a safety car has ended and so demonstrates that they didn't unlap themselves? 

I understood what element of the Abu Dhabil race you were referring to by the way 🙂.

If there is an update it MUST be ALL CARS to unlap though!

Personally I'm happy with lapped cars just being ghosted though. Unlapping might just about work in 100% races but I bet most rarely do these. Otherwise the total amount of time the faster cars just spend driving around behind the safety car waiting for the slowest drivers to unlap themselves would just be annoying I'd have thought? Writing as someone perfectly capable of having been lapped I'd rather not be holding everyone up like this actually!

Of all the issues in the game to potentially cause a call for a change of team leadership this seems like a strange one. At best cars unlapping could be added as an option. I'm confident that plenty or users would be unhappy if it were enforced. Just think how long it would potentially take the slowest cars in a race to do so, and do bear in mind that ghosting of unlapped cars means there isn't the same reason for cars to unlap as there is in real life.

Ghosting was the single worst decision after rejoins, IMO.

But yeah, optional for both is best decision.
