As the title says, I had some very odd driver transfers at mid season.
I decided to swap Veerschoor for Theo Pourchaire and that created a wave of odd transfers.
Verschoor has replaced Russell at Mercedes
Russell has replaced Perez at Red Bull
Piastri has replaced Magnussen at Haas
And Schwartzmann has replaced Stroll at Aston Martin.
There used to be an option to turn off mid season driver swaps, but that seems to have vanished. (Unless I've missed it).
Seems highly unrealistic a 0 point scorer in my F1 season would replace Russell.
The option to turn off driver transfers is still there. IT's in the settings. Forget on which page and I'm not in front of the game right now but it is certainly there.
The driver transfer system has never had any logic to it. It's just based on a drivers acclaim rating compared to team acclaim. It will match them up to equal values it appears. I replaced Hamilton Season 1, won the title. Constructors order of performance at end of S1 was Merc, Ferrari, RB. I left Merc for S2 to go to AM at the bottom of the grid. Hamilton returns to the grid. I assumed he'd take my empty spot at Merc. However the system moved Verstappen into my seat at Merc. Hamilton took his seat at RB. Perez retired (which i found very odd); Sainz took his RB seat, Norris moved to Ferrari and Vettel to McLaren to fill his seat. Any sense of immersion of running a real F1 career was just lost and I've simply deleted the save before I even bothered to look at what may have changed even further down the grid.
I guess that's why they only gave us 3 save slots again this year. After year 1 you are best to just delete the save and start over because the transfers will just destroy any sense of realism. I wish they'd just give us the option to customize it if we feel like it.
