Hi everyone
I bought a Pimax 5k+ about a month ago to get familiar with VR
I tried a couple of apps that worked ok'ish on my computer. It's a laptop with a 2070 rtx. Every pilot is up to date, and my headset is connected to the laptop with a minidisplayport adaptor, but everythings seems to work fine
I can play F1 2022 on my regular monitor in 4k with ~70 fps and have absolutely no problem with it, i can also launch the game using virtual desktop (but it's not a real VR experince, since its just the game on a flat screen in front of me.
BUT, when i strat the game in VR with Steam, the game takes something like 3 minutes to go, and when it works, i have 0.2 fps, i can skip the EA introcuction, but then it's the same, i tried to start a race, with patience, but once in the car, it's the same thing, i have less than 1 fps.
Anyone has an idea? or can i start the game in VR without steamVR ?
- 3 years ago@TheKenarf By any chance is the game in fullscreen on your normal monitors? If so, when the game is trying to load up, hit Alt+Enter and see if it begins to load normal

It wasn't showing on the other monitor.
I think i found one thread with the fix, i deleted the "hardware_settings_config_VR" in dcouments/mygames/f122 and it solved the issue. if anyone has the same problem that should help
.
Now i have to find why steamVR crashes after 1 minute 😛 i think it's related with the PiTool program

Attention Oculus CV1 Users:
I have found the magic sequence that makes the CV1 work.
You have to be inside the goggle for this to work. If you have black screen problems, select VR VERY LOW (the lowest setting) and apply. Don't restart the game, immediately go to the screen with the Anti Aliasing settings. Toggle between the modes, there is a high probability that the graphics will suddenly appear. If it does not, make sure your resolution is set to 1280x1024 and always in WINDOWD mode. The 1st AA setting yields top FPS, the second is bad FPS and the 3rd is black screen.
If it fails select other VR modes then back to the lowest one then AA toggle again.
This is the only way to get the CV1 to work.
Once the trick works, you can adjust all the settings in any way like you normally would. It just needs that kick start to work. Every time you launch the game you have to go through this sequence of steps.
On 1080ti with Oculus CV1 on 1920x1080 Medium VR you get smooth gameplay and very good quality (no blurring).
