VR Needs These Features

Currently when racing in VR key data elements are missing that are putting us at a disadvantage to those using a monitor.

1) No way to view your RPM which during race starts is rather frustrating as you either end up with a low acceleration start or spinning out haha, seeing your RPM like you can with the HUD on a monitor would be greatly appreciated.

2) Suggested gears assist. There's no way to actually view the suggested gear while in VR as no HUD and doesn't show up on the wheel screen

3) Can't see sector colours, which would be a nice optional HUD or wheel element

4) Can't see racing timings or position of other racers, again an optional HUD element option would be nice for this.

A lot of these can either be HUD elements, like the rpm and suggested gears is already built into one HUD for monitors with the additional brake/throttle pressure slider graphics would be awesome to have.

Another solution could be moving HUD elements to pages on the wheel you see in VR that you can swap between like you can on the thrustmaster sf1000 wheel you know? But that'd be a big change probably so easier to just make his elements optionally visibile while in VR.

Cheers! :-)

@EMPEthanNZ Yes, turning it on isn't enough. You need to go to the OSD Customization. For some reason ALL elements are set to hidden. You can make them visible there

  • If putting it all into the vr visual wheel, things like tyre temp/wear, component wear, timing pages, radio pages etc could all be integrated into the pages you can change to on the wheel to no deter from being in the cockpit.

Personally for me I wouldn't mind sitting in the car with HUD elements in my field of view though

You can enable the HUD elements in VR guys, I have the bottom pane showing with the gear and throttle/brake meters in there so that I can see how much pressure I'm applying (recently switched to a load cell brake).

It's been a while since I set it up but I think it's OSD customisation when you're in-game.  You can highlight the pane, and you'll get a set of options.  One of them is a "Hidden" option, change that to no and you'll see the panes in VR.

  • I'll recheck but I'm sure I had it turned on and was surprised it didn't work; I'm with HP Reverb G2 so maybe just incompatible issue
