Washed out Scenery and Reflections.

Product: F1 22
Platform:Steam-PC
Summarize your bug On Desktop PC with all graphics settings on maximum, the backround scenery seems washed out and not very sharp. Even buildings and trees that are not too far away. The reflections on the car and halo are also washed out when at certain parts of the track, virtually white in colour. This is using an NVIDIA graphics card. When playing the same game on a Macbook Pro running Windows on bootcamp, using an AMD built in graphics card with the graphics settings set low, the graphics are not washed out in the distance and all the track scenery is sharp and clear. The reflections on the car and halo on the laptop running low graphics settings is much better. I even get a message to say my AMD graphics card has a lower driver version than recommended yet it displays the game very well. I appreciate in the distance scenery will be fainter and less clear naturally but this seems to much so. I currently can't enable or see the 'Nvidia DLSS option' under video mode antii-aliasing. Not sure if this is related to the issue or something completely unrelated.
What is your 16 digit Report Code? GJDA-KDPS-DJCR-DSSE
Which area is the bug/glitch in? TT
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Did you have cross-play enabled? No
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Put all graphics settings to maximum on a fast desktop pc with an 'Asus Republic of Gamers Strix GTX1080TI Gaming Graphics Card'. Then play the game on a macbook pro or any other laptop with AMD graphics card with settings on low.
What happens when the bug occurs? Scenery in paricular in distance is washed out and not sharp. Reflections are to washed out and white. No colour
What do you expect to see? Scenery not to be washed out in distance and to be sharp. Reflections to be realistc and not washed out and white on highest graphics settings.

Photos don't demonstrate the issue sufficiently.

    @MA55LMO

    Check your display setting in relation to HDR, Gamut, colour space etc. as you likely have a mismatch between your GPU setting and your display settings.

    Check the in-game setting for Gamma too, thanks.

    Hi, thanks for the reply. This is when HDR is disabled. I have the gamma setting on 97 which is probably the lowest I can go as otherwise the menus and game start looking too dark.

  • I've done some more investigating into this and found that the setting causing the background to look washed out was the 'Lighting Quality'. If I turned this off, suddenly the background was sharp and not washed out. The low setting seems too washed out still for low but is better than the higher settings.

    The reflections that appear washed out and white at times are the same if I set the graphics all to the lowest or highest setting.
